Diablo 3 got it all right

Lol this is when I stopped reading, if you want to play a bad game go play it. Otherwise pick up your loot in the time that they give you. If someone "steals" it from you it just means you were too slow. Seems you are just mad at yourself.

Woah woah, hold on there retard.
Diablo 3 is not a "bad" game. The game is disappointment to those who expected Diablo 2 on steroids. It's triple A [AAA] game title, they done some things right.
I would prefer the combat of Diablo 3 over PoE, but i prefer PoE over D3 when it comes to loot/builds. It's called being REASONABLE. Keep on being blind sheep.

Most people are grouping for specific quests or goals. That's why people make a group called "Kill Vaal" and people join, because they have the same goal in mind. Nobody is joining those groups for loot unless they are the very ninja-looters that the people in the thread are complaining about.

Myself, I play a summoner and grouped for Piety as her AOE damage simply destroys my minions (she killed my level 57 Hardcore summoner just a bit ago). I did this in both Normal and Cruel (where I died).

So taking that into consideration I feel that most players feel like I do, we join a group with a specific quest in mind. It isn't to socialize and it isn't to get loot. We can socialize, sure, socialization is great; and we should get loot too, but sadly in most cases were don't.

If anything the current loot system detracts from grouping for most players.

As it has been said this is obviously a major concern for distance players.

In fact it is so obvious that I consider this ridiculously short timer as a sort of "Troll gameplay function", a developper joke.

In fact you must be close to the loot or run like hell AND click with as much precision as a Quick Shot in multi FPS. If you got 2 or 3 loot : you re dead. what this as to do with cooperative playing ?

I enjoy the game, I ve already sponsored it as I support small qualitative studios. But this clearly kills hi-level public party for me (wich may the the evil purpose of dev-team ?).

In conclusion, If I can't solo the end game instances, wich I doubt to be abble too, I will just get bored verrryyyyy quickly... and go play Call of Duty : no need to twist my brain on sophisticated skill tree if the whole point is Nuketown Style Quick Shot.

Moderator, have I helped keep the troll alive a bit more ?
For over a decade no one complained about this with D2. Suddenly D3 comes out and now all isometric ARPGs must have instanced loot? No, im glad this game pays homage to the oldschool cutthroat feel. Welcome to Wraeclast.
I hated that about D2 that's why I played it mostly offline. This game is online only and has more MMO qualities that I would want to show off. Making me play solo is just making me want this to be a offline game where I never buy items from the shop. I am border line ready to quit this game just because you can't do anything in a group without people hovering over your loot waiting for the timer to go off. I'ts just to bad D3 is not better than this game or I would be playing it.

On a better note I got a reply from Chris and he stated "We're closely discussing this at the moment in the office."

If this where any other dev team I would prolly rage quit :) but this is one of the best dev teams in video game history.

the open-loot-system makes the game feel more free and open.

It's very good as it is, don't change!

I don't want to be a WoW-Robot: Click there > click here > Your turn > Now click there > That loot is yours > That loot is good for you > Press here > Win

No fuking thanks!
Blizzard btw is not stupid they made the change in D3 for a reason because most people hated it in D2 "As stated by the Blizzard developers, the new drop system in Diablo 3 will make monsters drop several items specific to each person in the game. That means no more ninja looting of items at the moment that you see them. This is a huge change from the Diablo 2's quick "loot or lose out" system we are all so used to. This is to hinder leeching for items in Diablo multiplayer, like in Diablo 2

I don't mind the loot system at all.

But honestly I think they should increase the timer by a second or so.

You hit a bit of lag and lose a rare from it, it's quite lame. I don't see how increasing the timer would hurt anyone. It would also encourage people to not just blindly run into a mob just to get their item.

Even with the timer increased, there's still countless items that drop that a faster picker can snag up.

Playing solo in ARPGs isn't nearly as fun as playing with others. And friends aren't always online. If everyone you know is in their late 20's-30's it can be quite hard to line up schedules and play together.
That's really all we need is a little longer timer, and maybe make items not visible to other players until they are off timer almost 90% of the time my loot would not have been stolen if people didn't stop fighting just to hover over my loot, and when i click a item seven times and still get it sniped that tells me the system need's fixed a little. I just don't want to feel like i'm being forced to play solo like in D2. I have ran 52 dock farming runs and I have one rare axe to show for it, because I stand in the back casting carrying my team while they just hover over my loot waiting for the timer to expire, and when I click it they block me from running to the item. Another way to combat this is just make it to where you don't have to run to an item to pick it up.
