The reason for the low level of active players in Path of Exile
" If one plays at least 50 hours he definitely got a needle, just not maybe for a level 95 character, but for a 70 level character. Of course, people tend to look only at unique items, completely disregarding rare items, can't find a word how to describe that "behavior". Hence why all complains contain unique items. I've found thousands of needles, I know how a needle looks like, one is curved and rusty so I sold that one for 15 chaos, the other one is straight and polished, smooth like a babies ass, sold that for 16 exalts. Not a single unique needle with Nike mark on it. Last edited by tinko92#6447 on Jan 22, 2014, 7:54:28 PM

" And what are the chances for that? |

The main problem is there are so many low level uniques that they are worth maybe an alch at max and new players have it hard to build up currency to buy good items. Now it seems you can make more $ with selling rares that drop from boss runs since they give nice mid rolls usually.

" That depends on the time. But needless to say, in a loot finder.. probable, in a shopping game.. improbable. Damn I miss loot finders. Edit, but your point was that; that sort of upgrade would be overlooked. Casually casual. Last edited by TheAnuhart#4741 on Jan 22, 2014, 8:07:17 PM

Meh... OP is hugely exaggerated. It takes nowhere near 1.5k hours to "finish" a build, unless you are making an obscenely expensive build, or your idea of "finish" is level 100 with like 5 mirror worthy items.
Can you make a build that requires like 1000 hours of zombie farming to complete? Sure. Can you decide to be a masochist, play self-found, and up that time to like 10k hours to finish your build? Again, of course you can. But for most builds, you can get to level 90 and acquire 50-60 exalts of gear in a couple hundred hours or less. Is that still more time than most people want to invest? Maybe. But it's doable without no-lifing it up for 6 months straight. " This is a loot finder, which I already "explained" few posts earlier. No. The word "notice" was in a context of "not worth of mentioning", which it is. Except if it's an upgrade of an item that usually "worths" 5+ exalts, then people already process the money in their heads and it's an excellent drop. Sad thing is, people have low knowledge of what's a good upgrade to someone else, and it makes an illusion that nothing good drops. I've been there, I've vendored 150 pDPS 9+ crit wands, I've vendored shitty 250 pDPS daggers (when swords and axes were valued at 300 pDPS = 2 ex, 250 pDPS was a few chaos worth). |

" Pretty good with AI. TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional.

" Now you're blaming someone's bad luck on their stupidity. Believe it or not, there might be someone out there in the PoE world that is almost as knowledgeable as you, and has worse luck. I've gone 350 hours in Nemesis since my last decent drop(1 Ex+ value). I'm not stupid, and I have extensively researched and tested a lot of builds, so it wasn't that I was finding good items and just vendoring them out of ignorance. Sometimes, the luck is just that fucking bad. 350 hours might seem like piss in the bucket for some people, but to me it's worth more than 20k worthless yellows worth of Alterations, sprinkled with some Chaos. | |
" In another thread I told you that everything that goes beyond the casual pew-pew, every meaningful thing, is gated behind acquiring and spending currency. You acknowledged this by saying: " Now here you are calling PoE a loot finder, as opposed to a "shopping game". What happened? A memory wipe? Last edited by Jojas#5551 on Jan 23, 2014, 12:11:13 AM
