So frustrating that the same mistake is repeated in every D2 clone

I'd agree that they need more item mods, more unique items that are middle of the road good with end game potential without being undeniably BiS. And yeah the devs even said that they were looking at Torchlight 2 mods to study improving their itemization.

Also, I don't know if it's beginner's like but I just started actually farming Merc Dominus, who I used to ignore because I hated the boss fight. But anyways, last night on first 8 runs I got 4 uniques. And yes I remember them, in order:

5s Limbsplitter (yay - already vendored it.)
Crusader Chainmail (115% ar/ES upgrade from the 85% I had sitting in stash)
Bear hat (never gonna use)
15% all resist Windscreams (omgosh an actual upgrade to the 12% windscreams I already bought from someone! Not that all my resists haven't already been capped...)

At this point they just don't even have any uniques left that I don't already have or have sold away except for "the ones that shall never drop"

That's a streak of luck, so you can feel lucky.
I can run him 20 times and get 1 unique, and do another 20 runs and get 6 uniques.

As it is now, it is very irregular.

And to come back to the topic, getting uniques is still very much do-able.
The fun only starts when you need to 6-socket and 5/6-link your hard-to-drop uniques.

Because no one is ever going to use a chest/weapon which is not properly linked.

And properly linking uniques is less likely to happen than doing it with a white item, thanks to this bloody lottery called crafting.

Get used to getting no uniques for the first 2 difficulties, and then being forced to party with a mf Culler to find a million worthless low level ones later. It's pretty weak.
I mean I understand some of the things people are saying to disagree, but...

Diablo 2 made gems, set, unique, runes drop more reliably
Diablo 3 abandoned the auction house and increased drop rates of unqiues
Torchlight 2 was marketed where they said 'you will get awesome items, you wont have to grind for them, it's more fun this way'

The collective fanbase of all those games which I have played for years has come to the conclusion that better itemization, better variety, better drop rates equals a more fun gameplay experience, this is a process that has never gone in reverse in any of these games and has always been warmly welcomed by generally everyone.

It's just a lesson GGG has to learn, don't ignore the userbase! The userbase of this game probably has massive overlap with those games mentioned above so it's just short sighted to take the approach they're taking.
Biggest problem is the flawed logic of gating high end unique items to high end maps whilst still allowing you to get an ilvl 80 crown of thorns lol.. Such a stupid decision.

I get a couple uniques per day, all I needed was a little bit of IIR and even less IIQ.

Yeah that is a broken ass mechanic though, it leads you down the path of having 2 sets of gear if you want anything decent which greatly ups the chorefactor.

Also what's with shared loot! Even Diablo 3 with all its failings realised having 6 people fight over one good item wasn't fun.

First, it's only 4 people. Second, PoE has an allocated loot mode so you won't have to fight over the loot if you choose not to.

Finished my first playthrough.

Didn't get a unique.

Diablo 2 learned this lesson a decade ago, that the game just isn't as fun or good as it could be if you don't get good items. Torchlight 2 and LoD have the balance perfect, you'll get a unique at least once every act, probably more if you know where to look and you'll be getting awesome items fairly frequently.

Fairly good game overall but it seems like they'll put uniques behind a paywall like D3 if they're this rare.

oh you joined today??? i had my first unique after my cruel run... try some goldrings with rarity/qunt nd grind....

do mervil run, you will have tons of uniques... i got some on twitch who did 100 uniques in around 10 hours

and btw: ggg never ignored the userbase. i can not see that they have to "learn" everything, instead of you.. you can buy a support pack @ first :)

i think it is good that unpacient user still quit the game... after some years poe is a special game now, so also the cummunity...

will you be a polite part of it? or better play other games instead beeing frustrated after your first game pass

I vendor at least 40 uniques a day on a weekend. I got 3 Veil of the Nights yesterday and 3 Doedre Tenures and 3 of that new level 7 hatchet with chance to flee. No redbeaks, though, so I missed out on the royal shit flush.

I'm curious what you are doing that results in so many unique drops. I might find one or two uniques per week.

Also, plenty of those people would be willing to pay at least one chaos for in trade. More than you would get from a vendor.

Running 70/350 and farming piety or dominus and portaling in 4 additional clients. They get ~18 seconds invulnerabilty as long as you don't move them. It's totally GGG approved (I complained about people doing it and kept getting told this, so fuck it, I'll do it as well.) Is it soul crushing to solo kill piety or dominus with 5player life solo? Yes. Yes it is.

Is it worth the drops? I got an aegis not doing this, my best drop doing this is a saffells and mountains of crap. Yet, I keep doing it. I don't know why. I do sell many for a chaos, top sellers are facebreaker, crest of perandus, rigvalds charge, wanderlust. Silverbranch, Crown of Thorns, Veil of the nights? No one would pay a chaos for this garbage.

The Loot and the Craftsystem are extreme stupied in PoE.
PoE will lern this the hard way when D3-Addon will be released...
GGG doesn't learn it from D3, so they will learn it the hard way...

PoE has nothing to fear from D3:RoS. They fixed nothing and in fact made several things worse. The new class and Act 5 eye candy will not keep anyone's attention long. The new class and eye candy don't even tempt me as RoS is a worse version of the same broken game.
I think the reason why nobody likes all of them "useless" unique's is because you can use them for maybe 3 lvls?

On the other hand you could just buy a rare for the same price as the unique and use it for maybe 15 lvls?

(some unique's defy that rule, mostly weapons, and they are the most sought after lol)

It's working like intended, the only people happy with a low lvl unique drop are the racers imo, and even then it depends on what unique you get.

(silverbranch with leap slam racer hero, fuck yeaaaaaah, just an example :p)
