GZ FranzKafka, First level 100 on nemesis league!
" Waitwut? 1. GGG have banned supporters and streamers, so that statement was just plain false. 2. What relevance do legacy items have to proving that? Non supporters have legacy items too, that simply relates to how long you've been playing the game. 3. Which supporters troll around on the forums? And what gave you the impression that non supporters don't troll too? 4. What do you mean "they pay more than us"? You're a supporter too dude, did you just forget that when you were typing or something? Last edited by MonstaMunch#6519 on Jan 15, 2014, 1:04:01 PM

" In the other thread about it, Mark clearly calls using traps/mines with CoD an abuse case. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/757696/filter-account-type/staff The fact is that GGG does not punish players for shit they fucked up on. I respect and share Inva's opinion on being disappointed with GGG for not correcting this glitch sooner. Personally it's a bad call by them to allow someone to take advantage of this and use it to win a competition, and then not disqualifying them just shows a lack of respect for their players who do not abuse bugs. I'm also not surprised that the people who abused this could care less about the dignity of their "achievements" and fair competitive play. It's about being able to look into the mirror and be proud of yourself and your accomplishments. One day I suspect they may actually understand that their actions reflect the quality of their character as a person. If in the long run they do not, then that is just sad for them, whether they realize it or not. Last edited by skyelar#3109 on Jan 15, 2014, 1:09:42 PM

I don't see how this is worse than Aegis Aurora.

" Aegis aurora does exactly what it tells you, and does not require a game of tetris before you utilize it's function. Edit : i don't enjoy tetris :'( Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes Last edited by Boem#2861 on Jan 15, 2014, 3:12:53 PM

People calling for bans need to stop, that would be a very bad form from GGG.
Whatever you might think of Havoc and Rilke, as cheesy and lame as their abuse was, the fault lies ENTIRELY on GGG for allowing it to happen.....and allowing to happen for so long. Again, they need to check what their top players are doing, both in terms of game mechanics and dare I say RMT (No I do not believe either of these guys had anything to do with RMT, it was a general reference) Last edited by Melkrow#0726 on Jan 15, 2014, 6:14:12 PM

I like how people are comparing WoW cases and Speed running cases to this incident.
1) Blizzard, on multiple occasions, bans people and even entire guilds for using and abusing bugs, even if they realize it or not. See Exodus' world first for Yogg-Saron and Ensidia's world first for the Lich King. 2) The speedrunning community openly embraces the use of exploits and glitches to improve their speedrun time. HOWEVER, they also have a full clear speed run time in which no glitches or exploits may be used to clear the game. 3) Many of the speedrunning games are single player and does not have a developer constantly fixing bugs and updating the game. If you want to use speedrunning as a reason why this is acceptable, then GGG themselves should have called the league "Exploit League" so that everyone knows to be exploit searching. Either way, whatever the players must think, GGG will most likely do nothing to regarding repercussions for the players. They have a pretty strong stance about not punishing players for trying to break the game mechanics. |

Yeah, they used bugs/exploits to get to 100, but people calling for bans is going way too over the top, the only bugs that should be reasonably expected to be calling for heads is any sort of bugs that cause duping/deliberate crashing of the servers/killing a player somehow in HC that is not inside the bandit quest (No frost walls do not count) basically commonsence stuff.
This case is the developers fault for not fixing it sooner, they found something they could do build/mechanic wise and voila they did it. To call for bans with what they did is guild wars 2 levels of stupidity and will just create a bunch of grey walls that everyone keeps second guessing which is not what you want in this game. Really if you wanted to be angry the anger should be at the dev team, not the players. As a side note, grats for hitting 100, bug or not it's still an insane effort. |

In my opinion this bug/glitch is affecting the economy and should result in bans. Guild Wars 2 people were banned for buying items from the vendor for karma, which wasn't a bug, it was an oversight. People were banned for using an in game feature.
We had a dupe bug here a while ago which caused people to be rolled back. We had a vendor recipe that was easily abused to achieve a 6L with 0 cost, caused a character to be renamed and a rollback. This is along those lines, even the people doing it know it isn't right yet they are still doing it. These guys are flying through map content like butter, able to stack a shit ton of magic find and loot at least 3 to 4 times faster than any top tier build. Now people in other leagues are abusing it, and the abusers get rich quick, and get to keep it? Yeah, fuck that. At least hotfix cast on death to not add bonus damage for the time being... |
