D3 vs Poe: Which has worse itemization?

Iam Old school, i realy liked item hunt in D2, spend a night running Mephisto or Pindel.

In the last D2 patch with the new runewords you had a fair chance to easly get some gear so you can start the hunt. Items like Shako, Wizzardspike can drop on last boss on Nightmare.
And realy good class specific items drops from last boss Normal. Items that is so good that you still would use them on a lvl 90 or higher.

I have grinded Act bosses for more then 50 hours in this patch. And yes i have found some unike items, but they are useless. Mostly i have found too random stat rare items that only have 1 use, sell to vendor.

Iam getting tired of random stat rare items.

I Think ill give 3D another chance.

Frequency of upgrades dropping isn't itemization. They're completely different things. The itemization changes to D3 have nothing to do with upgrades, they have to do with the movement to the 4/2 system and the addition of even more ways for everything to scale the exact same way so your character becomes even more of a walking doll to play dress-up with.

4/2 is an abomination that made gear worse to the point that legacy enchanted gear would outclass the new level 70 gear in many slots.

Itemization is every single rare being utter crap in D3 to the point where they're not even worth picking up. Itemization is every skill scaling off the exact same things with a handful of exceptions. Itemization is a sword being just as good as a staff for a wizard. Itemization is every class wanting the exact same stats on all gear, with one stat changed. That is why D3 itemization is utter, pure, shit.

You didnt even saw stats on level 70 gear, yet you claim, that legacy items would be better?

Rares serve dual purpose in D3. First, they allow you to obtain decent equipment to start with. Second, they can be salvaged for reagents you will need for crafting. Or sold for gold. Even white items are worth pickup now! Do you really expect to get enough gold with gold pickup only, without selling items, and without AH?

Itemization is D3 was improved drastically after 2.0. Several new mods were added, new gem and a bunch of legendaries with really USEFUL uniques properties. If that isnt a real improvement, then i dont know what is.

What's the problem with wizard wielding a sword? Or an axe? BTW, in PoE casters can use axes & swords too, of those provide better stats. Yeah, the animation of spells doesnt use weapons, and that doesnt look well. But that's just a graphic issue, no more. In fact, caster's itemization in D3 is much better, i think, because in PoE casters are just fucked up. And i mean REAL casters, who blast enemies with spells, not CoC freaks.

Oh, and you think itemization in PoE is much better? Lol, just look, what stats on chest most life builds seek. Life + 3res + (if possible) double defence. ES builds seek for triple-defence + 3res. Boots? Life, MS, 3-res. Melee weapon? %damage+flat damage+%damage/accuracy+AS+CC+CM. And so on. Even passive tree just degraded to "path of life nodes". PoE had great itemization potential, but in fact, implementation of it was very poor. Real choice is still very small, most mods are useless, as well as most builds based upon fancy unique items.

I see complaints about D3 itemization all the time on the D3 forums: Can't find good upgrades from drops and prices for good gear on the AH are sky high because of flippers.

Poe was suppose to fix all of that, but instead I see the same complaints on the POE forums: Spent all my currency and couldn't roll a 6L and prices for good gear are sky high because of flippers.

Which game is more frustrating to gear up?

lol.

Comparing 6l to all of diablo's loot.

You really win the interwebs, bravo.

He has seen them. Why was enchanting level 60 items removed from RoS?

Because they were better than "Loot 2.0" items.

What's wrong with wielding a sword? ALL WIZARDS MUST WIELD 2h axes for best damage.

You don't HAVE TO USE AN AXE in PoE as a wizard, in fact, in many cases it's better that you don't do so.

I'm sorry you have no ability to see what is so wrong with diablo, you obviously like talking about things you've never experienced yourself.

Go to the class section of these forums. Look at different builds. Check out the different gear types people are using.
Or,
Go into the game. Open trade chat. Look at the different gear types people are selling.
If you have an open mind you cannot fail to see that the itemization is far better in PoE. I realize D3 added %increase to elemental skills. But that is really only a start.

You have TONS of choice in PoE. Just because you do not understand it does not mean it isn't there...
D3 AND PoE both suck in terms of itemization because they both focus too much on rares wich all need the same boring "base stats" like health, defense and resist.
PoE is a bit better, because your passives influence those base stats a bit, but worse becasue of the stupid link system wich makes even rares with good stats worthless becasue of no 5L/6L.

5L is totally mandatory for almost all builds to be viable in lategame, a lot of builds even need a 6L. Most of your DPS doesnt even come from your gear or passives but only from the amount of dmg support gems -> And thats why PoE itemization even sucks much more than D3

Most of those so-called "different" builds are really weak and inferior. And most of the still use the same gear. With few exceptions.

Do you still use trade chat in PoE? Lol, we have nothing to talk about even!

TONS od choice =/ viable build!!!

in POE, you NEED to stack Life, resist armor/evasion/ES and you NEED a 5l or 6l for damage.

Wow... a lot of choice!!!

Try a new build without taking life/armor/evasion/ES/resist nods and tell me how far you can go.

"Itemization" is the design of the character upgrade system through items. By calling upon this vague suitcase word, what we're really invoking is the idea that there should be a wide range of affixes appealing to certain niches, so as to reduce the prevalence of "utterly crap" items somewhat. Things like +Minion Life, +Maximum minions, +Aura Power, +level to certain class skills, other vectors for killing things besides raw +damage, etc*.

It is not to be confused with "item advancement speed". These are two different things.

Rare items in Path of Exile are boring. There's no getting around that. They're all some subset of some ideal item. I'm never going to find a random magic sword that can go bankai and turn into a dragon. Uniques are the only items that truly exist in the game, for better and worse.

* And by the nature of the game you can see how even that would break down. +2 Aura levels in Diablo 2 makes for something only Paladins would care about, prior to Runewords. +2 Aura levels here, well, everyone uses them so whatever. That's just another universal kind of affix, here.

Not true at all.
