With that out of the way, colluding with RMT sites would ultimately be a very flawed and inefficient way to make the game pay to win, which is something we've never wanted to do anyway.
We would have to be comfortable sending our valued players through virus-ridden third party sites that we have no control or oversight over, nor any way to prevent them from stealing your personal information, in order to ultimately allow them to undermine the game for legitimate players. Aside from being probably 10 kinds of illegal across several countries, there really aren't any gameplay or financial reasons remotely good enough to make us consider doing it, even if any of us considered it ethically appropriate.
So rather than organizing an elaborate conspiracy we could just ban them whenever and wherever we can because not only is it less risky, but the game, and therefore everyone who contributed their time, effort and money to it (especially you guys) benefit from us doing so.
So well put. +1

I've never really ran into any third-party RMT when I played Guild Wars 2, I imagine because the existence of an in-game system crowded out any 3rd-party organizations. Also, it's not nearly as big as WOW.

You must have been on a really (and I mean REALLY) unpopular server or something,GW2 was damnwell infested with third party RMT and it was blatantly displayed in every corner of the game.

I vehemently disagree.
And GGG were warned in both closed and open beta that this shit was gonna get out of hand quickly if they weren't johnny on the spot

so when we can expect ladder clean-up? you know, these guys that have accounts here and on jsp and are selling more stuff there than here? if it takes me like 5 minutes to find them you can do that (and confirm as ofc there is unlikely name and gear collision) and ban them.
you might ban some low-level and low-visibility botters but it seems that (Except for one case) top is spared the same vigilant eye
one can only wonder why

I solo/self find all my chars right through to mapping. The item drop rates are rediculous. I can barely see a benefit to RMT. If your build demands a 6L or a shavs i guess.

Every ARPG like this, have third person RMT.
In PoE, trading is (unfortunately) a huge and important part of the game. Because of that, the only way to limit RMT, is to design a script/program/bot that reads players behavior.
I'm no ace programmer, but it should be possible to filter out the buyers. If an account suddenly makes a trade, receiving 10 ex for nothing - investigate!!!
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Would love to know if there's any game out there that is "dominated" by "non-official RMT"???
If you look at a game like PoE, you would think RMT is more prevalent in this game than others... but its not... well, who knows??
Such a small minority of the playerbase use RMT, its not such a concern for PoE atleast.
Just for try for see and for know -2013!
