If a game is dominated by NON-OFFICIAL RMT, is it any less pay2win?
" The definition of pay2win is not very clear. Some people think that it literally means paying for "winning" a game. And then there's the definition of "advantage" itself. I think many people would argue that extra stash tabs and character slots are definitely an advantage. | |
" Highly doubt it,I'm suspecting more solo/self twinked through to mapping more than anything else. Just saying cause you're a trader that it makes a solo/self found proclamation hard to take seriously. There's always the benefit of the doubt though. " Ok you've complained enough so lets hear 2 things. 1. Name a ARPG or MMO or other online character driven game where you can't buy power. 2. Your solution to the problem. Last edited by ithinkimgood#3524 on Jan 6, 2014, 11:13:01 AM

I will never understand why so many people whine about RMT.
Sure its a bad thing and I hope all who do it get banned. But it has never prevented me from enjoying myself in the game. It has never even affected me directly in game either. I don't partake in it, I just ignore it. In this case, ignorance IS bliss. In truth, RMT just weeds out people from the game who don't actually enjoy playing the game. RMT'ers get their phat loots and then end up quitting the game, or they get banned. |

" Buddy I have not yet started to complain 1. Name a ARPG or MMO or other online character driven game where you can't buy power For what point ? Can you ? 2. Your solution to the problem. Been more than enough suggestions in the last 3 years to take notes. So let's hear two things from you ? 1.Do you think that POE is non competitive ? 2.Do you seriously think you can build an insanely strong character faster/easier by doing it legit ? EDIT: and it's ok to reply with a different account. Last edited by Temper#7820 on Jan 6, 2014, 12:04:19 PM

" For what point ? Can you ? Because you are whining like PoE is the only game with this problem when this is a problem in online gaming. I could name games not even character driven that have a huge problem with people using money to try to gain an illegal edge. Since you make it out to be a PoE only problem I was just wondering where I could go to avoid this dastardly "problem". Been more than enough suggestions in the last 3 years to take notes. Hey look that isn't a solution, you have problems following directions don't you. 1.Do you think that POE is non competitive ? While this doesn't have anything to do at all with what we were talking about I'll bite. I don't play this game competitively. This game is whatever you make it to be. I enjoy the theory crafting and the thrill of a hunt for items. When I get a good drop it's an amazing feeling. I got a bit off topic but as far as is this game competitive? If you want it to be, if being #1 on ladder is all that matters to you then go for it but cheating in one form or another is going to be a concern. 2.Do you seriously think you can build an insanely strong character faster/easier by doing it legit ? Although that is completely tangential to what I was talking about, probably ya. How does that effect me tho? As far as your edit, I only have this account(I just recently picked up this game) so no worries about me replying from any other account. |

" Lol, that's like asking if you can get insanely rich quicker than robbing a bank (or some else illegit way) |

They need to do a better job detecting and banning RMT users, even if they spent 1k to design a unique or 12k to design a monster. Those guys are supporting the game yeah but then they're killing it by using RMT.
They need to scare RMT users away. Make a shame list of all the peoples who were banned being or using a RMT service. |

" You are blind if you think that RMT doesn't affect you. No one wants the gear you find because theres better gear out there, better gear crafted using RMT. |

I think Charan answered this correctly on the first page. P2W is a term we use to describe games where developers take money for beneficial in-game...
things, if you will. RMT is players taking it upon themselves, and against the rules in this case, to gain advantage. If you want to blur the normal usage of "P2W", then fine. I don't agree. Current IGN: TheBearerOfLight
