players over 50 how you doing?

I strongly advice you not to invest a lot of time into this.
Once you will reach 70, in order to perform in higher maps, and not to get one shoted repetedly, you will need
max resists
a healthy health pool
energy shield
insane health/mana regen or on hit

To get all of this, you will look at a heavy heavy orbs investment
Problem is , since you outleveled all other previous areas, orbs wont drop, EXALTS SIGH...
So, you are left with 2 option
RMT
or play end game PIETY
Have fun in POE

There is a reason some of the famous youtubers post plenty of video feedback about the issue i am speaking about

I'm only a 40ish youth, but Anuhart is over 50 and he ownes this game :)

in fact, he probably didn't comment here because he's busy destroying some insane map boss solo self-found, and streaming it.
Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat
Shadow: That was fun

Hi, just hit 50, joined PoE for 3 months, and I have an LV80 Templar in the standard league. I know I am slow in reflex, and I could panic if things go bad such like a half of life gone in a sudden, so I make everything simple in the game play.

For example, I use one single attack skill, Leap Slam only, for both AoE and single target, and I have several keys linked to this skill, Q, W, E and mouse right, so I can always react to the enemies timely. I have 3 red flasks lined up on my belt, all Bubbling, so no matter I hit 1, 2 or 3 I always get the same life restoration. And, I link every buff/debuff to my 2 sets of CwDT, like endurance cry, molten shell, enfeeble, etc. as it's just too much for me to manually cast all of them when encountering a pack of monsters. Well, I like the trigger gem so very much.

Soloing, I have started running LV66 / 67 maps, only die once or twice for every 5 maps which I run per day, most of time it's because of those DAMN rogue exiles ambushing me from nowhere. I love PoE, it's the best game I ever play.

This made me smile :)
i once had a buddy in Left 4 dead 2, he was 65 when i remember correctly and we made the "real deal" achievment with him in our group, which is really hard. its goddamned hard especially for a relatively new player like he was. i remember giving him tipps, not to use a wireless keyboard, what kind of mouse etc.

i always prefered to play with him if possible. he was a far better player than most of the randoms who joined.

if you die in POE, its aparently your gear or build. not your age man.
Hello folks,

I'm 57, still alive and kicking monster butts since the days of Atari 2600.

Got 6 characters ranging from lev 68 to 35 on Domination and a dozen former Anarchy toons in Standard league.

Playing solo most of the time (things get too hectic with full teams and most co-players liking to switch to vacuum cleaner mode as soon as some loot drops) but always ready to give a hand to lower level players asking to kill some nasty boss / clear a specific area.

I know that feeling.

i also play LOTRO and have for 6 years. Ive played all the AAA games and it feels like a glove. I started on Atari of course and quickly racked up well over a million on Missile command one overnighter (good memories).

Commodore Vic 20 was my first `Puter with an astounding 4 k ram (or is it rom?) Adventureland was my first love affair with a game. this was in my early 30s.

I can group with anyone if its not run and gun in LOTRO, done the Rift many times IMO the hardest on level instance ingame.

As for this game, Its the targetting with mouse needing a little finesse more than reaction time. Just got a Rat 5 to help me out with that part. I have some hand tremours until I get into the groove. Aint no way I can Keep up with players like Ziggy D.

BTW 63 is mentally not much different than 33, but physically you will slow down in just about all areas. Edited to note that at this age taking pills and meds begin to come into play and that might well dull mental reflexes too.

By the way, old age has its perks.

I sit in a recliner, fully padded with pillows if I deem it neccesary. Theres a table at arms length with what ever drinks I need to stay frosty. I stare at a 50 inch tv/monitor from about 6 feet away so as to not miss any mobs. I like having to turn my head left and right in order to reconnoite the scenery. And of course a higher end computer is nice to with graphics set to Uber. Yet its all vanity. I just want to have fun.
