players over 50 how you doing?

I'm just shy of 50, and just picked up the game from comments on some other gaming boards.
I find I can't play my archer when its late and I'm sleepy, but can do ok when I am awake and have movement speed on the boots. I did make a more tanky marauder, and do better on that one when sleepy. For those curious, I have been gaming since middle school, when some of us snuck on a mainframe in the 1970s. This: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek_%28text_game%29 .. was my first game, played on a HP (Hewlett Packard) mainframe using a teletype terminal. http://www.columbia.edu/cu/computinghistory/teletype.html A "gaming" machine of the past! In high school, a teacher let me write and compile games on her computer in the chemistry lab, a TRS 80: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRS-80 |

I almost never post in game forums because I don't feel comfortable about fellowshipping with people half my age -- let alone with children.
I know we older gamers are out here, but there are no others in my group of cronies, for sure. Ah, wouldn't it be nice to have someone to brag to about shepherding my shadow (Shep) all the way through merciless in the standard league, solo and with absolutely no trading, without feeling like a fool. Or have someone to rage to about the fact that I can't beat the Vaal Oversoul in hardcore without seeming like a lunatic. I think the problem is that I tend to doze off if a fight drags on too long. Anyway, the real point of this post is to find out if there is a geezer's guild out there looking for experienced (real experienced) gamers. I would happily accept an invite. There's no such thing as revenge in hardcore.
