The obvious micro transaction cash grab?

Maybe they have some debts accrued over the past N years of developing
this product. Let alone their product is only new for a short ammount
of time. Best try to catch what you can early on and if need be modify
aspects later if/when the population declines.
Basically this is the point, for all those not really bothering to read the OP:

Now, for $10, you only get 92 points instead of 100. For $5, you get 46. So even though you are only 4 points away from a 50 point item, you are forced to purchase a minimum of $5 more for being just $.40 cents away.

That is pretty much the issue. NOT that anyone has to buy items, but how the stuff is priced.

I'd like to see GGG's response to this. But I'm guessing they'll say nothing because there is nothing logical that they can say to back up this move.

For example.. I'd like to buy the stash tab pack. It's only worth 15$ of Closed Beta coins. But, if you want to buy it with Open Beta coins then it's $20. It's really unfair. It's like they're saying "if you bought coins in closed beta you're better". I just don't understand why they want to segregate the community like this.

I want to give GGG my money, but they're making it difficult for me to do so.

It´s like saying preorder bonus for people who preorder are unfair.
Also no matter how the point distribution works you will always have a chance to end up with unspend points depending on the items you are going for.

Asking for the same rewards as a person who backed early seems to me like a pretty obvious case of entitelment.
Closed Beta backers took a greater risk so they got greater rewards - seems easy enough.

And if someone just jumpes to the conclusion that the prices would stay the same it is kind of his own fault. GGG never said that the rates for the Currency would stay the same (I´m pretty sure that they actually even mentioned that they may change them as they see fit)

Also the 5$ purchase has its use, namly pruchasing something which costs less thann 47 points (of which exists plenty of options), just because some feel like it should be 50 points doesn´t make them right (even if the 5$ were 50 points, as soon as you wanted to buy something for 60 points the same argument repeats).
And if someone really is bothered by the 1 point which is (at the moment, namingly 6~ hours into op beta) currently unspendable without extra purchases... wtf? 1 Point is less than 10 cents, if this is a big deal for you... well no comment but the solution is as already posted easy enough - change all the 6 to 5 and evryting is as perfetly spendable (as long as you don´t care what you buy) as with any other per 5 rates.

As far as I can tell the problem just boils down to people feeling entiteld because of the closed beta deals and their worries about misplaced 10 cents.
No, the problem is GGG didn't tell anyone and irrational fanboys who cant think for themselvs defend secrecy.

I agree, they could have made an official announcement for those, who were curious to invest in a Beta-Account.

I personally don't have a problem with this.
I spent 50 bucks on this game, and that will be enough for me as I got enough stashtabs and still some points left.
GGG deserves every cent of it for making such a great game.

I'm sure yeah, but why the need to force people to pay MUCH more than what they should for items?

As it is, a 50-point item is worth $10 even though $5 already gets you 46 points.
