One solution for a lot of you at the moment is to do what I do, don't trade. Forget about efficiency and min-maxing etc, just enjoy the game and don't trade. Stop spending hours in trade chat flipping items etc and boring yourself.

Trading isn't necessary (I guess unless you want specific uniques) so just don't do it.

I'm not against trading at all and if there is an item I want, I'll trade for it (haven't traded in Nemesis yet). I am against this insistence that trading is a must and is the only way to play the game. Its not.

the trade isn't bad.... the bad it's the prices of the items.

-the new players can't buy absolutely nothing decent.at least in nemesis league.
-people only want chaos orbs. and for trade you need first get chaos orbs (or exalteds)
-people think than a ring whit 80 life + 15% resis cold it's ultra super awesome ring....... and it's just a crap ring.

-some orbs are really dificult to find.
for example exalted orb i only see one in all of this season in nemesis league.
i see only 4 blessed orb dropped
2 divine orb dropped
maybe 100 chaos dropped (not for me... for all people)
2 regal orb (we need more regal orb drop for use on blue items)

whit this numbers of orb dropped + the prices of items in trade it's just imposible to buy decent things.

example the weapon kaom's primacy = 1-2 exalted
boots try resis + life = 1-2 exalted
MF ring whit life + resis (only 1 or 2 resis) = 20 chaos - 2 exalted
kaoms armor = 35 exalted
voltaic rift unique bow = 35 exalted

exalted = 25-27 chaos

and that's only a few random things if we go for a 5L or 6L armor or weapon it's just imposible to pay that.

Except it doesn't help normalise the market values or help those of us that don't innately know the value of items in this game because we're new or work for a living!

A broker does. I can loot something, see what others are selling for, decide if I want a quick sale (or not sell at all) and set acordingly. No need to spam global with "PC plox".

An Aion-esque AFK stall places load on the servers with more concurrent logins and doesn't help anyone give a good price at all. You'd still need to live in this game as an accountant to have some idea of the price or it's a total waste of time.

And I for one am getting a touch fed up of Global being a price check channel.

Honestly can't see how anyone sees this as a bad thing :/

Naw it's spot on. Of course if you want something super rare it's hard to get. But if you're looking for decent gear you can do it quickly and efficiently as a buyer. Easy.

I see that everyone is still on the "the AH ruins games" bandwagon. The AH didn't ruin D3. The RMAH and the fact that it's a very bad game did.

Trading in this game is awful. One of the worst experiences i've ever had in a game.
And, btw, POE has an AH. It's poe xyz combined with the forum. Only it's sort of like a broken AH.

Aside for a few (maybe 10) big ticket items, it's a huge hassle to buy and sell anything. A real AH would make POE much more enjoyable. Using poe xyz and the forum to sell stuff just makes me want to quit. The trade channel is not even worth mentioning. If, again, you don't have one of the few items that everyone needs, you'll be low balled, put on ignore, have people call you names etc.

It did, and it will ruin this one too.

In a perfect world, trading in aRPG would be trading an item I need for an item you need.
But this world is far from perfect and any sort of market will immediately be overtaken by those who use it for a profit and not for a better experience in game.

Even GGG said how they weren't expecting such efficiency. Releasing the game has probably brought in a lot more player causing the degeneration of trading to go way faster.

In older games trading could work because it was a restricted market since very few people played the game online. Now that the games are forced online, the trading networks are bound to overtake the games themselves.

The contradiction is here. Trading ruins the game; and yet they don't even consider to make a SFL?

Or you just means an AH will ruin the game because a fair/clear bidding system will ruin the game?

The "hardcore" who can stay in the game doing nothing but flipping in the trade-channel and get rich, while the actual players play the game and get behind in gears. If it's not to ruin a game, what is?
