Trading too tedious? OR Trading is OP?

Trading will never be fun for everyone.

The only thing GGG can do is make progression rely less on trading (in other words, make it easier). Trading should still be useful, but not mandatory for progression.

Again, this would be solved with a broker, and brokerage fees.

In order to list items, there is a listing fee which is based off a % of what your asking price is.

So some guy peddling wares will now have to gauge his items worth vs player demand;

If he lists an item for 2 chaos that would not sell for 1 chaos, and it has a 10 whatever orb fee to list, the game changes.

It would go back to running content.

A broker is needed.

this is dumb lol
what if i start a new game and find mirror of kalandra on my first drop?
I would not be able to list it coz i don't have any currency? Players without currency are not supposes to list items?
What if i have 200 items for sell and each broker fee is chaos? You want to lock 200 of my chaoses just for trading?

This is not a way to go...

Easy to solve :)

Just need another reversed market part, where people list what they want to buy, no extra fees charged. Then u can sell ur mirror without putting it up for sale :)

You can still make private sales, or use the existing trading channels, they wouldn't cease to exist.

Have you not played any other online MMO's? This is pretty much the norm for almost every single one of them.

You get such a big ticket item, you do a private sale.

A broker solves the relentless spam of small things;

Gems, Orb conversions, mid-tier rares, pretty much everything else.

Big ticket items are sometimes placed because of the view count by the most wealthy, as everyone checks the broker, but otherwise, sales of such expensive items are done outside the broker.

Like, just think, if the trade channel only had about 10 call outs, and not an ever scrolling list of spam, but those 10 calls were for items like mirrors.

Brokers exist in every mmo for a reason. Brokerage fees and time-limited sales are how they operate.

Cheers

EDIT* I would also like to mention, that numerous third-party sites are already doing this. GGG if implemented, could then reign all those markets in and keep the gamers in game.

Actually the answer is both are correct. Trading is currently to tedious and cumbersome in PoE and it is also OP. Because even though it can take a while to trade right now it still takes less time in getting gear through trading then it does to farm for it.

Well the way I look at it Blizzard didn't get everything right with Diablo 1. It took them until Diablo 2 to really hit their stride on getting things right. So I figure PoE will hopefully learn from their many mistakes in PoE and will hit their stride in a PoE 2.
Luke: Sorry we have to leave you here, but it just ain't right to eat your wife's and daughter's brains. Plus you're really disgusting and I don't want to spend anymore time with you.
when you start spending more time trading (usually waiting/stalking/haggling/etc etc) than playing the game as it was suppose to be, there's something wrong

So the question is which one is correct? These two complaints are polar opposites. You can't improve one without taking away from the other. What is your opinion?

Both are.

Game in one hand forces you to clumsy trade while it chickens out in making trade truly efficient because it turns the game into economy sim and destroys the balance.

On the other hand game insists on economy, and developers are not in fond of SFL system, because they want people to interact (this is multiplayer online game after all) and they don't want to include even the SFL option which could be probably incorporated in, without disturbing the game (I had some ideas how to achieve this; SFL ideas

So in one hand you're forced to use clumsy system and if you ignore it game feels clumsy too.
It's loss-loss situation, really, hence all those reactions.

I do not really enjoy building characters and finding loot, but I do enjoy trading. If they do decide to implement some type of AH or broker system that sells your items for you, I hope that they also implement a feature that fights and loots creatures for you. That way, I can skip the parts of the game that I find boring and tedious and get to the part of the game that I actually enjoy playing.

Try summons and totems, they fight for you so you don't have to. There's nothing that can loot for you, though considering the limited inventory space that's probably for the best, unless you enjoy inventory tetris 24/7 to keep up with the auto looting ;)

The trading system we have right now is fantastic for buyers...
I can post in trade chat a few times with the item I want, and within seconds someone, or many someones message me to haggle.
I outfit a completely new CoC build last night in about 15 minutes, spending around 2 exalts.

Now selling on the other hand is an adventure in frustration. I have a 5-link death's oath for sale yesterday and the day before. Many people messaged me about it, but I got so many 1-2 ex offers that I didn't think I'd get the price I wanted. I did, but it took me about 2 hours total of solid channel spamming...

I didn't really like the AH in D3, but a better system in PoE would be great for sellers.
