Question no 1:

why you play a hack and slash game?

a) faceroll 99% of content because is stupidly easy and skip 1% of content because is stupidly difficult
b) face progressively harder content and do progressively more epic battles that reward skill rather that time spent on mindless grind

PoE is a) nowadays. Take a look at:

You have no idea how ridiculous this game has become in hardcore/nemesis. I personally haven't ever found a map above 74 in my time playing but i recently joined a group of "high rollers" and did some 75-77 maps with them. I gotta say it was very fucking dissapointing. Most of the time we just skipped the bosses and just farmed the rest of the map for the xp. That's how they move up the ladder there. That being said i have given up and just do races or level alts now because the high level end game is not what i was hoping for.

In my opinion the map boss should reflect the difficulty of the map and not roflstomp everything up to the boss room where you get the "surprise buttsex" treatment. Furthermore i'd rather not do a map at all if it is that i have to skip the boss. I like boss fights. It's the highlight of each map. Sad that it's so dangerous it's not worth trying most of the time.

The consequence of playing this game is:
- skipping bosses
vs
- getting oneshotted

It's not the problem of being a no skill / no gear noob. Bosses are mostly faceroll or oneshot. There are few exceptions that are just interesting to face off.

Cool story, except

(1) I dont really trust any crap pyrokar says
(2) A lot (not all, mind you) of nemesis players are idiots that just stack 8k hp and think they can call it a day. There is block, dodge, blind, evasion, armor, spell block / dodge, flasks, auras, resists, chaos resists, endurance charges ... all these defenses, that these players in group games forget about. Totally l2p issues. Have you seen group games recordings? Always the same, a bunch of bow and 2h users that run to the forefront of the action with no thought whatsoever to what is in front of them, because the power of a 100 auras feels so cool. Look at latest akira death lol, or that guy who died from reflect with ST. Pay fucking attention in a hc league, is all I can say. A lot of bosses arent that hard if you know what the fuck you are doing. Their dmg and attacks are easy to mitigate / avoid. The problem is today's kiddies just want to faceroll content, the slightest hint of a challenge is just 'lol op / broken / fix plz' ... zzzz

The only gripe I have with over the top stupid spikey boss dmg is dominus' hand of god, it does ABSURD damage before any damage mods. But then again, he is a 74 and 78 map boss ...

The Labyrinth boss was already ridiculously OP even before 1.03.

Oh, shyt... :D

Currently playing pure EVA, Reave / Doublestrike shadow and this boss is a total joke, if and only if I manage to close in without getting hit by his initial chaos (or whatever it is) burst. If that thing touches me, I'm instagibed.

This boss "balance" GGG is doing is ridiculous. More so because maps cost money orbs to roll and not being able to do the boss means potential progress / orb loss. It also feels stupid to being forced to skip the bos if you are not a specific "counter buuild" for that boss.

About facetanking bosses:

it is true. For a melee char it is all about

(your life pool+your life regen+leech + your DPS) / (boss DPS + life)

With some bosses (e.g. cell, temple), my strategy is click it with my main skill (fast double strike) and facetank. In the meanwhile check your life pool and timers on flask effects, and use flasks (life, resistance) when needed. I not even see the boss, since i'm focused only on the life pool and the timer on icons.

With some other bosses (labirinth, JValley), i still need to upgrade my gear and passives to increase the aforementioned ratio.

A well designed boss is Vaal, since you need to use a real tactic. But desync issues leads these well designed boss to be very dangerous too, even if you know how to deal with them.

Exactly. After dunno how many years, Vaal is still the best boss fight in the game. Lunaris / Shrine Piety is also a fair and balanced fight.

Everything else is either a faceroll or a gearcheck "equation fight".

Cool story bro, except

(1) Tell me one good reason for me to be lying.
(2) You are saying players that do 75+ maps need to l2p? Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds?
I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.

Change: Spawns Devourers

My firestormer got owned 6 times today, it took me 3 deaths to figure out he spawns devourers, and then the boss alone killed me 3 times.

With 7k up armour, L.14 AA, MoM, and Enfeeble, my caster was killed in 5 seconds, and I thought the new Torture Chamber boss was hard...
