Stop turning Path of Exile into an ARPG?
Newsflash ARPGs never have been advertised as trading simulators. And ARPG does not mean Diablo-clone. There are have been tons of long running ARPG games like the Ys series.

Guys, this is not debate if SFL was necessary /wanted /smart or not because that would lead us nowhere, we been there, done that million times already - we all have our opinion and arguments and that's not going to change.

This thread is more like "allright ... SUPPOSEDLY we do get SFL ... how should it look like...?"

Just a little suspend of disbelief .. Can't you just accept simple IF THEN terms of conversation ;)

Either no partying or only allow people to join one permanent party and never a new one. This permanent party would not be able to remove members and the offline members would remain in party but with "offline tag".

Reason is that this way either the individual is self-found or the party is self-found. Any other option would go against the etymology of "self-found".

I still don't get it...

I play Nemesis, I never trade and I don't feel my game experience suffers for it.

What am I missing here?

Skill Resets are the last refuge of the weak and incompetent.
Turn off trade chat, pick up your own shit. There ya go, you got your SFL. I love how you expect higher orb drops. GTFO.
We should add to it an elected government in other leagues. That government would tax 10% of each trade and redistribute the wealth to the poor in the community. That way, not only everyone have equal chance at winning the game as before, you also are equal to the top end elite party, you will be rich!
says drop rates will remains the same...then suggests to increase orb drop rates.

same ole same ole SFL nonesense.

The thinly veiled easier part.

I'm not sure if I understand you.

IMO SF player should be able to join any party (if this would be viable from programmer /designer point of view) but -for him- PA would apply automatically. He would get his share of loot, which is natural, but yes, if other party member leaves the area or disconnects, items should remain gray /unavailable.

Also rule should be determined if items dropped from other players would be pickable. IMO they should remain "gray" / if party member wants to give you something, he can do it through guild stash /if you have "stash sharing" enabled.

Nothing. You would be able to play as you wish. Some self founders hate when they succumb for temptation and buy some things.

In short having SF enabled would barely affect you;

You could not trade with other players, each party would be PA and some orbs would drop more often but nothing dramatically. Instead of finding 4 fuses per weak you would find 8.

And you could buy most of common gems from traders. That's all, rest of game would be the same.

Some of us would like to craft (gamble). Don't expect it to go well, but would like the added frustration: see Kripps video blowing 7 ex and 6 eternals for 12% fire resist for example.

Otherwise I can go play rogue variants and have a similar experience as POE aside from the skildrasil.

I think only Regals and Exalts should be upped. How much is debatable. Divines and Blesseds maybe, but not necessarily. Everything else has a reasonably easy vendor recipe except for chaos, and they can be mimicked by scour and alc. Eternals should remain just as rare.

No trading means no dropping loot. Partying should be fine because there is no trading of loot. Party allocations should be adjustable as they currently are.

Hardcore and limiting sharing between characters in same account is a personal preference that does not need extra coding in an SFL league.

Edit: I actually don't think gems should be easier to get. Part of my fun is developing builds based on what I find/can make.
