But you do want it easier, otherwise you wouldn't be asking for increased drop rates!

The fact that the game includes trading that you don't want to participate in, is completely irrelevant to any self-imposed rules that make the game harder for you as a result.

What you're essentially saying, is this:

"I don't want to use any rare items, therefore GGG should create a new league with more powerful white items and no rares"

I have no issue with this sort of gameplay - in fact I find it quite interesting. I remember years ago reading a dudes blog about how he had a sorceress in Diablo2 using nothing but fireball, and ended up killing Diablo with it, just to see if it could be done. That's great - but it doesn't deserve it's own league.

And neither does any kind of "self-found-with-better-drops-but-it's-harder-really" idea.

Look you are making a strawman here

The only reason the drop rates are so low is because of trading. Chris mentioned himself the drop rates are the way they are because the leagues have an online trading economy

You have to realize, the critical difference between D2 and PoE is that D2 was never designed, or balanced, around an economy in mind. PoE is, there have been many buffs/nerfs to preserve PoE's online economy

The reason why people are asking about this (and the OP specifically told people to stop debating this), is that almost every aRPG that isn't PoE or D3 was designed around solo self found (or party self found) progression, and not around trading or AH

So you can't really complain that people are asking for a feature that has been staple of most aRPG's, especially when PoE is apparently D2's spiritual successor

This makes absolutely no sense at all.

Simply playing the game does not automatically qualify you to either own a six-linked item or reach level 100. These things are at the extreme end of the power curve and are deliberately designed to be very hard to obtain.

I'm not sure why this is so hard to understand.

Not sure what your arguing about. What does qualify someone to own a 6L? Holding a scamming lottery? RMT? Flipping items until your rich enough to buy one or hurl thousands of fusings at an item?

Also, how did this topic get turned into only being about 6L's?
