@Elynole: have you worked in the IT industry in any form? I'm trying to do these guys a favor, not lynch them, my post might seem harsh, but for their sake it ain't.

Actually, yes. I do S/TCL and .NET development for medical software - prior to that I supported major hospital chains in various roles including database development and administration as well as specialty medical applications such as e-prescription, computerized physician order entry, health information systems, surgical schedulers, tele-radiology, and medication dispensing software - so pardon me if you're horrible ranting seems a bit...ragish and unbeneficial as all you did was throw a few cuss words, demand a fix, and gave no technical specifications.

Ok, so you do, good! I'm also in .NET development, and frequently handle customer support to see the fruits of my labor, after all customer feedback is the best anchor to reality.

One other thing not to forger, a user/customer is always right, so forgive me, but I strongly disagree that I am at fault for "demand a fix, and gave no technical specifications." The problem is that WE (users) have not been asked for any technical details (be it game logs or even web debugging proxy logs (e.g. Fiddler)).

In other words, what got me started is POE's staff being convinced this is problem on users end. Even if it is so (which I do not agree with), they did nothing to get to the bottom of the problem.

To sum it up, I'm in no way a flammer, but the lack of respect to users always gets me started. As another user mentioned, this game was highly recommended by friends and I can't even start it on a machine where everything else runs. Others having the same problem would just walk away and lost as users forever. I cared enough to write an opinion ...

One, the customer is NOT always right...that's something the the desperate employers tell their staff to keep customers and avoids issues.

Under: I’m unable to patch the game.

It's in the common technical problems thread and they have asked you to give them info in another thread.

The "lack" of respect goes two ways...you want some you need to give some...you act like and entitled twat, support will have a tenancy to ignore you.

Also "customer" also implies you bought something...have you? in the 2 weeks since you started playing i doubt it.

@lagwin1980: I am unable to run the game dude, what playing do you imply? Or should I pay in order to play now, huh?!

On a side note, good support should always be present in all problematic threads, as this one which is already 5 pages long.... I DO NOT have to look desperately in all their forums to find a solution or instructions what to provide them. If this is a common issue (which obviously is), there should be a sticky thread about it.

I would no longer reply on why I wrote that harsh post or explain myself to anyone. Happy playing to those who can actually get it running.

A good support should know that raving fans are usually turned raving haters, so if they ignore my post, it is their lost, not mine ..

I'm not implying you are playing or that you need to pay, i was pointing out that "customer" implies you actually bought something and are there for entitled.

Support has posted in the thread and they posted the pertinent info that could help fix the issue, if you don't want to look further into the problem to see if there is another fix then that's your problem.

As for it being a "common" problem, it's not, even if you lumped all the threads together with that error message you are a tiny fraction of the 2,000,000+ user base and they are still putting in the effort to try fix it for the few...even if the few want to keep the blinkers on and ignore/not look at other threads.

Ok, so if I get what u'r saying, if I haven't paid (am not a customer) I am not entitled to nagging in this forum. You would go far with this logic ..

There is nothing to look. They said that an update for wireless devices has been pushed that causes this issue. I've already posted here what my device is and that it is running latest driver (has not been updated ever). What do you want me to do, install an old driver, just because POE have some gut feeling this is the problem? No, sir, everything else works, so I'd rather walk away.

As I said, I DO NOT have to look at other threads. Plus I've already saw the lame suggestion of support in this thread, so why would I look elsewhere?

Anyway, I rest my case ..

I think lagwin1980 was getting at that the term customer means that an entity has made a transaction with another entity. If you haven't made a transaction, but still use the product then you would be considered a consumer. That's technically the correct terms for accounting/etc. So until you've paid, you're not a customer - only a consumer.

Either way, supposedly you being a professional - I'd think that you would provide as much feedback as possible if you were trying to help alleviate such an issue. All you did was complain and demand, and unfortunately sounded quite ignorant in doing so.

If you have VirtualBox installed try disabling the "VirtualBox Host-Only Network" network adapter.

If you don't it might be worth trying to disable all network adapters not currently in use.

This worked for me, I'm curious if it will work for others. (If it does list the adapters you disabled please).
Any fixes for this? I moved on from this game after getting this error, I might play it if I could install it.
I solved this error quickly by a hard wire to my router.
Excited to play this game!
