I am having the same issue. "Received a packet that is too large to deserialise". Windows 7, 64 bit.
Launch client.exe Checking resources... Exception "Received a packet that is too large to deserialise" |

Same for me, and I'm using Windows 7 x64, too.
I get that error right after starting the Client when it says "Checking Resources" - exactly like SilentDeadlyGas. Does someone know how to fix this issue? |

Check out your network interface settings or your router/switch, perhaps Jumbo Packets is enabled? If so, try turning it off and trying again.
Haven't had this problem myself, and without know more about the network environment, hard to troubleshoot. |

Thanks DoomCloud, I guess that's the right direction. I managed to get the client on my desktop computer to allocate the space and start with the download. This works only, when I download the game on my laptop at the same time. If the client on my laptop is not downloading I still get that error on my desktop computer. I changed a lot of network, firewall and antivirus settings but couldn't find out how to solve the problem.

Hey Guys,
also getting the said exception. I downloaded and installed the game and when I start the client, after "checking resources" the launcher just crashes and all it says is "Received a packet that is too large to deserialize". Using Win7 64Bit as well. |

" Increase the interrupt frequency (or something synonymous) of your NIC. This can typically be accomplished through the device's configuration. It's possible this will work but as it's extremely implementation-dependent don't get your hopes up. "The problem is there ARE secure netcodes" -- Pewzor

I am having the same problem. "Received a packet that is too large to deserialize" pops up upon attempting installation. Would connecting my desktop through an ethernet cable rather than by wireless adapter help alleviate this?

I am also getting this error. Windows 7 64 bit. I uninstalled the game because I was getting stuck at "Checking Resources" since the new patch. Now I can't even install it due to this error.
