When diablo 3 RoS comes out, PoE will die and the future will repeat itself

What do you mean by "pull ahead"? What's the measure there? Personally, I don't think PoE has a snowball's chance of ever beating D3's user numbers... So what do they pull ahead in?

Look at the numbers as they are now.

As i said, most ARGPs have a massive influx of new players and then it all dies down. D3's release was a primaryy example of that. Even POE's numbers have slowly gone down since launch.

The issue itself is not "how many people will initially play the game" - of which i'm certain that RoS will do fairly well (Brand image ftw).

However, in the long run POE has more to offer. With the expansion upcoming, if GGG is consistent in doing what they have been over the past year, i think RoS won't stand a chance.

Every game nowadays eventually dies out. The ones that stretch it for longer are the ones who offer more than just a business model aimed at revenue generation (nothing wrong with that, but we're talking about quality from a customers POV).

You can't honestly believe that.

When D3's expention comes out, I will probably spend the 40$ on POE goodies...

Blizzard aint getting anymore of my money on D3.

You still haven't explained what metric PoE would "pull ahead" in. It sounds like you are saying that you think PoE will have more players than D3. If that's the case, I think you have a real misunderstanding of the scope in difference between these two games. Solid numbers are hard to pin down, but D3 has something to the tune of a hundred times more players than PoE - and that's right now, when PoE is at its peak and D3 at its low. At no point in any rational argument could you ever reasonably posit that PoE will have more players than D3. It's just not going to happen.

Now, that said... I could see an argument made that PoE could retain more players as a percentage than D3. Given that PoE has promised ongoing content and D3 has no such plans, this may actually be a correct statement.

Edit:
That's right. I'm fixing a typo from a three day old post. Don't you judge me.

Fact is POE will improve so much in the future, that any other game will be put to shame in this genre.

Plus D series is nothing more now, than a piece of cartoony Japan Shiny Flashing disco type of a game all over.

Even now POE is already so much superior, so there is no need to say anything more.

Best regards, Fary :)
GGG thank you for all the great things you are doing. You have combined every element of all other great Rpg's and joined them together as one Diamond, that will shine Forever.

This is coming straight from the heart <3

Blizzard/Activision have a giant budget. Absolutely enormous. Marketing alone should guarantee them a solid influx of players when the expansion does come out. I will not be among those people. Too little too late. D3 was crap on launch, PoE had the sensible idea to keep itself in beta for like 2 years before it's official launch and the result for me was the awesome experience of a very polished game. Extremely fun to play. This is why you make you game good before you come out of the beta, because people like me and many others will not be willing to give Diablo a second chance.

Hopefully they learn their lesson and don't balance their next games around a real money trading racket again. That was the stupidest move Blizzard's ever made.
Well,tbh i will buy d3 expansion and i'll play(i'll skip a poe league) it if it's good.If not i'll only play poe.
Anyway i want sooooo bad for GGG to succeed. They really get it.The phrase "by gamers for gamers" was trully made for them.
I never imagined i would play another arpg as much as i played d2 in my childhood but poe seems to get me back to it every time i take a few months break to play another game.

PoE needs loot 2.0

99.9% of loot in PoE is complete trash tier.

making players leave in droves
The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

Every post I read from you the more I realise the game is simply not made for you. You seem to be a gamer that wants to log on, have a laugh and relax without thinking and get good items without any effort. You are an arcade gamer and nothing wrong with that I do however think you in the wrong game. And I think D3 would suit you well

And btw POE is still a top 10 game played on steam and thats is so impressive. Someone told me earlier that GGG is the only indie company in the top 100 gamers played on steam(insane achievement). So players dont leave in droves tbh

i just wait for RoS.

the fact is PoE is no game for casuals and / or unlucky people like me who have a 1000x worse drop rate on good stuff then in D3 classic. trading lower currency and gems is like not working in this game because people only like to trade if you accept theyre scam offers.
