Ever since I played the D3 beta I thought D3 is an overrated joke

Im pretty sure there never was a D3 beta. Inferno was like the most retarded map mods ever upon release. Certainly that would have gotten fixed during beta testing. Also the fact that only DH were viable at release. Surely that would have been fixed during thousands of hours of beta testing by hundreds of players.

GGG has a free lesson in D3, on how trading and global economy, ruins the ARPG by making looting unrewarding & pointless. They better not ignore it.

Play the game you think is better. Brand loyalty will get you nowhere.

Holy Christ!

A post that isn't totally retarded, quite the contrary might I say!

True, POE is awesome but it requires too much investment for little reward.

Diablo failed but its expansion might actually be a lot of fun. From what I've seen a lot of people will go and stay there cause they have a job and want to play and loot not wonder 5 hours what to do to actually have a playable toon...

It strikes me as extremely surprising to hear so many D2 fans praising D3 for being able to progress without trading and complaining about the necessary bartering required to advance in PoE.

It's surprising because one of the biggest/best aspects of D2 WAS the trading. Sure, you could clear all of the content in the game easily with self-found equipment, but that was because the games hardest content was easily solo'd by a character half-naked. However, you could NOT perfect a character with all BiS equipment / charms with self found stuff, it just wasn't possible. And that was the end game in d2, perfecting characters and ultimately pitting them against others.

Personally, if all need to trade is removed in D3, that will be a horrible thing for me and should be for all real hardcore d2 players. Bartering is a CORE aspect to any ARPG and should be required to advance your character.

To be honest, I feel like most people complaining about wealth or lack thereof in PoE haven't really gotten to end-game. Hell, on my Domination toon I found gear equivalent to around 30 chaos just getting to 60. It's not unreasonably rare to find rares worth multiple exalts from maps. You can easily build up wealth in this game.

Its 2013; what sounded like a good idea back then, isnt now. Spending more time trading than you do playing isnt fun for anyone.

Also, I feel it was easier to trade for the things you wanted in d2. I dunno why, or how, since you had to sit in trade channels or join games, but it was easier to get things.

Trading just isn't fun for a large majority of players. I hate it. I hate trading with a passion. I have 3-4 uniques sitting in my stash worth multiple exalts, and tons of little items here and there/gems/whatever, and I'm so trading adverse I cant take the time to post a page up and deal with hagglers trying to lowball me 24/7. Its just one of the least fun aspects of PoE. Especially since I have to go spend all my time scanning some 3rd party Auction house, and messaging people, whatever. I get IRL agitated scrolling through gear trying to message people that are offline, and I get agitated listening to dicks lowball me and run their mouth while trying to haggle.

For that reason, i suspect ROS to do fairly well (if not extremely) initially. I think that GGG's dedication to the game will pull ahead in the long run.

What do you mean by "pull ahead"? What's the measure there? Personally, I don't think PoE has a snowball's chance of ever beating D3's user numbers... So what do they pull ahead in?

Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
