It's not hard to improve Diablo III... even cancer could improve it

As a D2 player that still has multiple 99's with perfect gear, and as a D3 player that reached paragon 100 and got 99.999th percentile gear, I will never be going back to D3. PoE has exceeded D3 in every respect, and has exceeded D2 in everything but PVP. I have no interest in even casually trying the D3 expansion when it releases.

I really like Diablo as a franchise. I find the story to be engaging and sufficiently deep to warrant some of the novels that have come out of the Sanctuary universe. I find the past installment to be the pinnacle of RPG of its time. However, I find none of this spirit in D3. We can discuss it all we want, and you do not have to agree with me. I feel that I enjoyed D3 enough to warrant its purchase as a full title. It was nice.

But it was not what Path of Exile has to offer. RoS will not change that.

I'm not a mindless bandwagon fanboy, so I'm going to play RoS.

I'm going to play RoS because it has a lot more variety in the endgame whereas the PoE maps system is getting really repetitive for me now. I will revisit PoE if they add in more variety to the endgame content though.

OT: Imo we will see more things copied from PoE as time passes and new RoS patches are coming out. So RoS has plenty of room to grow.
