Well, barely people doing maps, even tho its getting more and more if you look at those BoR's dropping.
Also i might consider that GGG enables certain unique drops after some time the league is running, you could think im wrong, but just look at the trade chat etc when the 1st of the 6 named unique drops. After a few hours theres suddenly 5+ of them ;)

I'm a casual player and have playd since start of OB. I play 0-2 hours a day and have had 4 Exalts drops.
I remember each of them very well.
One was in a chest in the Climb map normal level. One dropped off one of those annoying slimes that blow up in the Cavern of Anger merc. One droppes off a Burning Miscreation (used to use them as Spectres) in Lunaris 2 and the last one dropped off one of the 4 Unique Banners in Solaris Temple 2 when I was getting me Flame Banners as spectres both merc level.

The OP's question wasn't about how people got them, but how they were created in the first place. He doesn't understand scale. Most "active" players play about 20 hours a week or so, and will see one or two exalts a year. I just made that up, but it's reasonable. That gives us about one exalt per 500 hours played. With 50,000 people playing, that's 10 exalts per hour entering the economy. People then trade them for stuff and they start accumulating in the hands of traders.

Im pretty sure hes also wondering about the fact how some people got alot of exalts, and i gave him an answer. Its quite obvious that they need to drop, cause otherwise there wouldnt be so many.
