Where all the exalts come from?
I found 17 exalts, 5 eternals and 5 divines in like over 3000hours. I plan to claim my life back next month as it stands. So that's 17 less exalts in the next 10 months =p

" Wow, impressive play time. I'd be surprised if I have over 150 hours of play time (including closed beta). I'd have to check it out. In that time I've been lucky to find three exalts (found them in open beta). I even used one! Got some terrible stat from it. Figured, what the heck? Might as well see what it does. |

" I'm not sure "impressive" is quite the word I would use for it =D Return to this flameless sunder

As far as RMT sites are concerned: I'd imagine the vast majority of the wealth they generate is still from hacked accounts. GGG has taken some great steps to reduce this, but all that ended up doing was force the RMT sites to improve on their methods. There is a wonderful series of videos where a "former" WoW gold farmer (now he's a "consultant") breaks down this whole black-market economy. The long and short of it is, the harder GGG makes it for them to bot, the more they have to rely on hacking accounts (which, even with the current anti-hacking system in place, there will always be compromised accounts waiting for a buyer).
As for where all the exalts are coming from right now? I heard an interesting theory: The actual number of exalts are so low that a group of hardcore players can actually control the market. I remember times when they were so scarce you had to break someone's arm to convince them to trade it to you. Being able to pay in pure exalts was like being a high roller walking into a big casino, everybody wanted your business. Now everybody's trying to get rid of them, accepting any orb of value for trade. IGN: Ikimashouka, Tsukiyattekudasai, DontCallMeMrFroyo

" More exalts dropped in your life time of playing than pretty much anyone elses. "You can't bash someone else's shitty taste in music when you listen to 'grindcore'" -TheWretch̢
