Conversion is additive, you convert 90% Cold to Fire.

Thanks.

Btw does it double dip between Ice Damage and Fire Damage?
With 100% increase in fire damage and ice damage does it go

100 cold>200 cold>180 fire>360 fire?
Conversion happens before all multipliers.
The Converted damage does benefit from the source's relevant multipliers.

You'll get 90 Fire Damage with 200% Increased Damage.

More or less, you get 180% Increased since you still lose 10% from AoF.
No AoF: 60 Cold, 40 Fire Damage.
100% Increased Cold damage -> 60 * (1 + (100/100)) = 120 Cold damage
That plus 100% Inc Fire damage -> 40 * (1 + (100/100) + (100/100)) = 120 Fire damage

With AoF: 90 Fire Damage
100% Increased Cold + 100% Increased Fire damage -> 90 * (1 + (100/100) + (100/100)) = 270 Fire damage

-----------
AoF is only Damage Conversion plus only-deal-Fire-damage. It does not change multipliers at all. You still get the full benefit.

I have an issue with Avatar of Fire, there seem to be no sound when you hit something. I recently took AoF and there is no sound of me hitting the mob with any melee attack I've tried.

Is this meant to be or is it a bug?

Are you implying that even if I have 100 physical dmg that %increase to physical dmg or %increase to one/two handed physical dmg will still increase the dmg after AoF conversion?

Also, does % weapon elemental dmg apply to the fire dmg that is converted? (like WED gem or Catalyse node).

Anyone have an answer to this curiously?

Also just to get the nub question out of the way, if I had 100% physical damage to say swords and cast a fireball there is no way in hell that the fireball would then do 50% more damage?
My question about AoF is how it interacts with elemental equilibrium? Any info would be great, thanks!

Yes, you can read up on damage conversion on wiki and on forum. But to make long story short, for the purposes of doing damage physical (or any other) converted to fire will be genuine fire damage. But for purposes of increasing damage it will count as having both physical and fire properties, all relevant physical and elemental increases will add up.

Of course, as long as that physical damage is weapon damage, that's the whole point of converting, having as much increases and multipliers as possible to apply.

Of course not, you're not using a sword, you're casting a fireball. Anyway, conversion doesn't expand damage bonuses to work with more damage types, it just ads an extra tag to damage you do in order to work with more bonuses. See, damage that fireball does is tagged internally as [fire(elemental), spell, AoE] so it will work with nodes that increase any of those types like 'fire damage' or 'spell damage', but it won't work with nodes that say 'fire damage with swords' or 'weapon elemental damage', it is fire and elemental but you do not use a sword or any kind of weapon to inflict it. For nodes to work you must satisfy all tags on it, for example 'elemental damage with spells' will work, it's a spell and it's elemental but that same node won't work with ethereal knives, it's a spell but not elemental.

First post on page 2.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Just look at weapon elemental dmg support gem. Instead of increasing just the elemental dmg, it will increase 100% of your fire dmg by 80%. Weapon elemental nodes also give quite some serious dmg, as do some pure elemental nodes.
A "Pure Ohysical" IB build with AoF would be able to add WED and IPD

Break all the burn.

I like where all this is going. Add in Flammability and Fire Penetration for epic lulz.

I might have to try an AoF build out...
