The time for this discussion was when they changed Silverbranch. Now it's too late, the precedent has already been set. To break the precedent would be another problem creating even greater confusion, and ultimately undermining trust.
I think the best solution would be for less items to acquire Legacy status. Several of the changes sound like they are ganging multiple solutions to the same problem, or they will be relatively minor, or applied to items that break balance only a little bit. In those cases no change should have been made at all.

If it were me, I would not have nerfed any uniques. However I would have kept the buffs and complex changes that are effectively buffs.
The reason I wouldn't have nerfed Kaom's is because there are several other Life changes in effect in 1.0 and those could potentially shake the importance of Kaom's on their own. It may be an Avatar of Fire enabler now, but I would have preferred that to be a new unique rather than an old one. The reason I wouldn't have nerfed Shavronne's is because of the Righteous Fire nerf potentially doing the job. The other nerfs don't seem to be on items that really need it or, in the case of Auxium, something that will effect it much. edit: Do Mirrors work on Unique items? GGG seems to not really care about hardcore or standard anymore. The majority of the people are going to be playing the 4 month leagues and doing races, GGG treats hardcore/standard like storage facilities rather than real leagues so they probably don't care about having OP legacy uniques in them.
Sadly because of this decision Hardcore and Standard are about to have their economies completely raped by legacy uniques, I'm sure RMT sites are getting a massive boner right now. |

It's not like there's only 10 of each exceptionally OP Legacy Itmes (i.e Kaom's Heart) if that were the case, for season or league champions, no one should argue. If an item is too unbalanced to remain, why let so many stay unbalanced ?? You wouldn't let a player keep a legacy Bear trap from 0.9.1 That will be roughly twice as strong as the gem that will spawn in 1.0.0 I have several legacy items, that I fully admit are OP and should be changed for me and everyone else. The only players that think they should have legacy after re-balance are ones that need the E-Peen or are scared they wont be very strong with out it. They argue the 4month leagues, but you if you really believe in them you wouldn't care about legacy, because you would be off supporting those leagues & never really play standard. Ya I get being pissed that your awesome gear is less awesome, I have a legacy Kaom's, I lent it to my co-worker after the Life nerf. Couldnt have 10K HP so I swapped to 14k ES Made myself a Facebreaker build, Super OP & now my perfect FB's are gonna get nerfed...... SO WHAT ?? theyre OP and you all know it. (Will say lil annoyed@ FB nerf not coming with more unarmed active skill options, 5 is weak!) Soul Taker is the most OP item in the game, with the Aura Changes, legacy will be more so. You may disagree with them changing an item, or why they changed it, but any one who isnt a douche, won't rage cuz theyre "X" OP item is the same every other "X" And for the record "time spent" with RNG is not a valid excuse for legacy. I got Kaom's luckily 8ex worth of chance/scour, back before chance nerf & my roommate played minimum 4 times as much trying to get Shav drop (or the currency for).
