OP Legacy Uniques are the worst decision i've seen from the devs thus far

I like the decision to keep the legacy items. The legacy leagues will become the exhibition are for all the quirks and design decisions the game has taken with gear. Since the new leagues will be available to play without the legacy items there's no problems. Plus none of the legacy items are needed to enjoy the game.

I don't especially like the legacy items decision, but honestly it doesn't affect me in any significant way. If you want to play in the permanent leagues but don't like legacy items, sell/Divine any you currently have and don't buy any more. You'll still be playing a game with plenty of good items in it.
The effect on trade is going to be negligible for the vast majority of players who could never afford most of these OP items even before they became relics. |

" Precisely and we can only hope that they do the same with skill trees and skill gems in the future when they got the resources and technology to do so; i.e. legacy skill trees and legacy skill gems. A name change would be nice too. "Standard" is a bit misleading strictly linguistically. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

" It does affect you if you have a character in standard/hardcore and intend to continue playing there. Any major nerf/buff causes a redistribution of wealth; yours included. You may not care about that effect, but that doesn't mean it doesn't affect you. This message was delivered by GGG defence force.

This is slightly off-topic, but must be said.
" Whereas I generally agree with your points, I don't really understand the need (yours and anyone else's) to fling the word "communist" around in ways that don't even make any sense; i.e. strictly derogatory. I understand that you haven't read Das Kapital, not many people were ever willing or able to do so, but surely you could have at least read the Wikipedia article on the matter. <Tyrfalger> Exactly, the next act is going outside Sarn and into those wheat fields (see the map) to become a farmer. Then we can spend our days endlessly farming. Wait a minute...

" It must be a quaint local custom, a leftover from times of red menaces, sleeper agents, iron curtains and such. Well, communism is a praiseworthy vision, ants and bees somehow manage it but we have no chance in hell. It's not that communism isn't good enough for us, we aren't good enough for it. "The drawback of being rational is, if told to perform a set of actions, one can think of other actions which might be preferable. When the motto is "from each according to his ability," the optimal behavior is to give the appearance of none; when the motto is "to each according to his need," the optimal behavior is to give the appearance of many. This leads to collapse. Instead, inverse Marxism is what works best with rational beings: to each according to his ability, from each according to his need. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " Or it's just the absence of a group mind :) Who knows, might be the ant would also rather play games then carry a load ten times his size but, well, it's kinda hard to slack off if everyone else knows you're doing it. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

you are really going off topic now...
The issue can be easily summarized by listing the facts: pros: - players who possess legacy items are happy that they have sthg valuable. - the problem of Kaoms and Shavs being OP in legacy leagues might be fixed long-term, if less and less legacy items circulate around. - newer and stronger uniques might exist, which could make Kaoms and Shavs obsolete. This might be true but I guess in pvp these items will always have their value. Especially for life based builds I highly doubt there will be anything close to +1000 hp, ever. cons: - newer players who play legacy leagues and who reach endgame will realize that there are items which are better than theirs but cannot be obtained anymore except for trading very expensively. This is frustrating. - there is a negative effect on pvp. This is especially evident if you compare the old and the new Kaoms. The difference in life is too big and is expected to make a notable difference in player strength. - considering the players who possess a Kaoms/Shavs are usually of the type who play a lot, don't expect legacy items to leave the market any time soon. I believe they will be around for a very long time, which doesn't solve the original problem adequately. Newer players will try to obtain these items. If they can't they might as well stop. There will always be the type of people who don't care much but that's usually not the one who reaches endgame and wants to optimize their chars in every possible way. http://tinyurl.com/ooety9v - Ranger bow lightning arrow crit build Last edited by Dan1986#1261 on Oct 23, 2013, 8:43:58 AM
