WHY DON'T YOU LIKE TO TRADE?

That's pretty much how trading goes if you don't have godlike items.

So you acknowledge the items you are trying to sell aren't that great, but you are mad no one will pay premium for them. You also spam for hours without giving up and adding a bottom dollar b/o to your trade spam.

The best thing you can do with rares/uniques that might be worth something is just save them in your stash until you have like 25+ then just open a shop page on the forums and let people come to you.

I'm gonna disagree here big time. Hardcore is full of mega nerds that know the exact price of every item, and are 100x more jewish than normal, since they are saving for shavs etc...

If you are one of those anti-social people who hates trading you will have a better time in hardcore since things are more straight forward, in normal you can wheel and deal a lot more.

I wish people would divorce the idea of being anti-social with not liking this trading situation. I am giving a training seminar this morning to a crapload of people, so I am by NO MEANS anti-social. I don't typically trade because I loathe how people trade in this game.

They aren't great but they aren't bad either. Just a few random stuff.

And yeah, spamming on the forum bumping is better for the small % of the players that use the forums who only want godlike items. Intermediate items or small upgrades aren't sought after at all.

Also, never said I was mad, don't put words in my mouth. I just stated why I dislike the current trade system.

The problem with rares is that a quick glance at trade chat gives you almost no indication of what the item is / lvl / stats. You have to hit enter and mouse over then read it. It's a real pain and most people don't bother, that's why unless its a godlike rare don't even bother trying to sell through /$

Just save them up then make a shop post, that's were people looking for rares to fill their gaps go anyways.

There is nothing to think, it would be fun offline/solo without the need for trading (more so if the game is balanced around it, and no fucking lag). Races, ladders and all other things are nice addition for people that are interested in it (i am not sure what character creation has to do with online aspect), but it is not mutually exclusive to things that people want, as devs implemented means to do it, that is why there are leagues.

Yeah I know, on trade chat I mostly spam for andvarius,etc ( whatever uniques are in demand) but even that takes a while. On the forum I haven't had much success either, bumping quite a lot and not even asking for much.

While I do agree with the ingame chat thing, much fewer people trade on the forums and those that do, only look for extremely good high level items. So there's that...

Irrelevant. I was speaking more to the hostile, irreverent attitude most traders have towards us common folk. Scamming people is seen as the norm, and is expected in order to turn profit. My beef is less with the system and more with the people within it.

THAT IS how trading works in every game without an AH, you just defined it... Sounds like you just want baby mode / daycare uniform prices via an AH, go play D3.

Trading takes way too long in this game and if that's not bad enough, when you respond to a WTB or WTS, sellers waste time trying to jack up prices and buyers often want to pay nothing. Until something is done, I'm done with the trade side - and will just plod along hoping to get what I need. Trade chat is always turned off now - so much spam.

GGG really needs to make a better trading system as I really don't want to spend the time I have available spamming and hoping for a buyer. Killing mobs is much more fun :)

Are you... are you being serious right now? Go read my post history. Go ahead, I'll wait. See me advocating a full-on AH feature like D3? Simultaneously, what's my feeling of blizzard/D3?

I have not played every single ARPG title out there, nor do I care to. Slowly and calmly read what I have said in this thread, and you'll see that I am pretty cool with how the trading system is in POE, just not cool with how people deal with advertising their prices.

As I understand it, the trading system is meant to be slow and arduous, it is NOT meant to be a cesspool of human depravity. I could care less about the situation in other games, I want THIS game to be the topic at hand. The plan the devs have set in motion seems reasonable to me, and in my opinion will be leaps and bounds better than spamming trade chat all day. Will there still be assholes? Yes. Will I need to actively seek them out? Not as much.
