So, Blizz has the balls to remove AH...
" There is nothing fun about trying to achieve something designed to not be achieved. I love making alts. I love doing maps. I just want to link my chest on my own instead of buying it off someone else, and I absolutely loathe the fact the best way to do that is to flip items for hours instead of farming. Even more than that, I hate the fact that it is blocking me not because I lack the skill, or the time, but because after 4000 fucking clicks of the button I still havent gotten lucky. Think of 6ling as this. Get a 50 cent(or whatever value) coin, and try and get 10 heads in a row. Go do that, and tell me how fun it was when you get back. @majesw Yea, I do not really mind traders outperforming me. What I dont like is the HUGE discrepancy between the effort I put in compared to the effort they have to put in. What I mind even more than that is linking items. Its very nearly broken my will to play the game, I just can not link my fucking chest, and its annoying. It saddens me that I ahve spent twice the value of my item 6led on the forums just trying to get a 6l version of it myself. Its fucking stupid, straight up. Also figure more and more people next league will save all currency for a few weeks to buy the best items they see fit for their build/spec. Most bow users right away save currency for lioneyes or volt because nothing else comes close and they know they will use it for the rest of the league. Pretty much goes for everything.
Probly gonna be less shavs for the first month to as rmt will buy them all to start for 5-10 exalts. They know it will go to 30-50 in a few more weeks when people have currency. The rich get richer and the poor always stay poor. I myself usally play self found as I want to use my currency for map progress pretty much from when I hit maps to end of the leagues. Everything I sell goes straight to trading for chisels or chaos/alts to roll maps or buy more maps sometimes just to have more. |

" It's probably one of the dumbest argument I have ever heard. If it isn't hard then what stops you from doing it? |

Path of exile is the same as AH D3, in that if you find something good, it's quite often something to trade away to get something you want, thus the reward comes possibly days to weeks later and only after an arduous trading session spent either in the soul destroying trade chat or third party websites rull of RMT ads. This is why Blizz have replaced the AH with "loot 2.0", so you get useful stuff immediately, even if you didn't expect it.
I hope GGG some day realises that one-size-fits-all orbs means that no matter what, only the guys at level 90+ are actually using the stuff because using orbs on anything less than the best items possible is a waste. Hoarding, flipping and prices decided by a very small part of the community makes for a bad economy. A game with mechanics tied to its bad economy makes for a bad game. Trading and crafting in this game are bad. They're not good. Just because POE doesn't pretend to be an MMO doesn't mean it's better to D3 in every way. Blizz's "loot 2.0" sounds like a much better system than POEs "loot grab bag of dog turds or pure gold". Most items found in lategame are vendor trash, most useable ones have bad links or vice versa, requiring the use of fusings/chaos with no indicator of how many are necessary to make said item useable. Solo players get reamed with lower IIQ, players who don't like to trade are just plain reamed. The game of killing things to get things is mired by the necessity of 'farming characters', all using cookiecutter easy and safe builds to stack MF in groups to get the most stuff. If efficiency is all we're supposed to care about then why even bother coming up with fun builds? You can't gear them without grinding out some orbs and trading for some useable gear. There needs to be a lot of changes. I can appreciate an oldschool game but I don't want to see the game brought down and made worse than it could be simply because it's trying to appeal to those who love to play Rogue Trader with toy swords. " I just think that there will always be a HUGE discrepancy between players and the top traders. Look at Diablo 3. I have a friend who traded some and did some serious playing when the game first came out. He made between $300-500 from the RMAH. On the other hand, the I know top traders who have made over 10 grand. If you try to do that by playing, then my word... You'd have to drop the top item in the game multiple times. It's just that way in almost every game. I'm sorry, but it is... |

I've tried a lot of builds and there will be more I try in the future. The thing is, I'm looking for THE build. The one where you are in maps and the shit just doesn't get old. Every time you log in, you go straight for that one character, not because he is highest level or your goal is lvl 100. You go to that character cause you enjoy him the most.
I don't play for 1 shot crits on every mob. Do I welcome more damage? Absolutely, but I am not into glass cannons. I like my characters to be well rounded. I don't play MF sporker or dual totem because you can be safe by not making foolish mistakes. They also miss the "fun" factor and as such I don't consider them viable imo due to lack of long term enjoyment. I'm not going to invest in something I know for a fact, isn't what I am looking for. My current character I play (fall back toon when tired of leveling) is an 83 ele hit bow ranger. I play solo with him to go at my own pace, but I clear 70-72 maps no problem even with vulnerability when I have 0 armor and I'm not pure evasion either (I use ev/es hybrid gear for eldritch battery). I'm not afraid of reflect mobs and so I would consider this toon to be pretty good. I guess the best way to explain how I feel about this character is he is sturdy. However, he is not what I would consider to be THE build. I am still looking for that, and I don't think better gear (tons of room for improvement) would make him become THE build. Because he already lacks certain qualities I want, but he won't get unless I reach like lvl 96. Even then ele hit is boring looking and I do care about visuals which means he needs new skills or possibly even a different weapon type. I hope to find THE build for me someday (probably after release due to changes coming). When I do, I won't care about cost of gear because I know as long as I keep playing, I'll eventually get it. I don't start characters by looking at the best gear. I start them based on an idea of what I would enjoy and see if it is actually something I enjoy or not. ign: Vixien

" Ignoring the items you check because you dont get enough rings/belts/amulets compared to the other slots, you never even find out what most items you pick up ARE if you are trying to be efficient, you just vendor them all for the chaos recipe and all. I actually think one of the saddest things about this game is that the most efficient thing to do with your loot is vendoring it without even checking if it is a good item. @majesw I know thats how it is, but only because thats how the games were built. Its not how it HAS to be. They could change it. IGN Last edited by MierenEronaile#4239 on Sep 19, 2013, 11:52:44 AM

" This is what i am saying: Problem of players is that they want this and that. ( and i understand it ) What if the way the game is built would not be the way YOU MUST play ? I mean, yeah if you want to be on top ladder, you must play on party always, is everyone doing it ? Yeah, if you want dozens of exalts you must trade a alot, everyone must do it ? Everyone take life nodes to be able to beat merciless, everyone do it ? ( well yeah ) but is it a must do ? Well check my vaal merc kill with 600 life.. PoE want to offer players options. You can go the trade way but you can aswell ignore it. @Qarl : sorry to speak on your behalf^^ Anarchy/Onslaught T-Shirt Owner.

" agree so far as i noticed, this one-char-mentality did first pop up with D3. Its boring as hell only to play 1 char. i have round about 20 - 25 chars, dont even know :P most of the time i play selffound. 2 or 3 weeks ago a soul taker dropped and i sold it. i still have the exas i got from it and dont even know what to do with them yet. it seems people these days only can enjoy things for a short period of time. bad for you. you will never get lucky this way. insane in the membrane
