Personally, I tend to use ice spear more than freezing pulse. I find fp misses a lot due to desync, wall and corridor/door issues.

So you basicly only use 1/2 spells?

In terms of active spells, yeah. I very rarely use Ice Nova - I'd use it more but I'd need to link it to faster cast, which I haven't done yet. Of course I run a couple of auras - Grace and Clarity.

I also use Elemental Weakness debuff a fair bit, and an Ice Spear/LMP linked Totem. So most battles I'm casting 3-4 spells.

New witch here as well. Great information in here on how to traverse the intimidating web of passives. I was wondering if someone could go into more detail on the skill and support gems used with this. I've browsed all the cold witch threads I could find and I still feel like I'm missing some information on gems and maybe gear.

Edit: Nevermind, decided to go summoner. Sounds more fun =)

Pardon my noob, but which side do you go first, left or right?
I go a bit right first for mana regen, then left a bit, then right.

But really, the early levels all fly by so fast it doesn't matter which branch you pick first.

Question for you ice witches. once your done and running maps, what give a better increase to damage; adding 30%crit chance or say 20% spell damage?

Just wondering because im leveling an ice/crit build except i started at shadow since i already have other witches, but at round lvl 24 i did some item swapping with spell damage and crit chance and it looks like spell damage is giving me more dps. I had a wand with 19% spell damage, and swapped it out for a dagger with 40% crit chance and my dps dropped.

Is this different at higher levels? Also what curses do you usually use? Ive been leveling a crit weakness, and elemental weakness. The elemental weakness seems to be working better with more freezing and more damage. By the time im back to doing maps will one be better than the other ?

20% more dmg will do 20% more dmg

but with criticals its other story, first u have to count all ur critical nodes, les say its 400 together, then u have make this math 400*6, if ur spell have 6% chance to critical, then add the spell critical value

so u will have 400*6+6 and all this *100%

400*6+6 is 2406 *100% its 24,6 chance to critical strike

24,5 is a bit less its less than 1/4 chance for critical

lecs say uve got critical strike, so the base dmg value of criticl is 150% base dmg, u can earn this number by taking critical multiplier nodes


the thing is that first u have to have critical strike, then u can tanlk about damage otherwise its just dmg without crtitical
