High Level Map Boss Dmg Is Just Dumb

I too agree that overcapped resists being necessity is a bit insane.

Not too many builds, especially on the right side of the tree, have access to overcapped res.

However, I can see why it is the way it is.

If 75% was sufficient then there would be no use for those nodes and flasks because outside of maps 75% is plenty. For it to be the same in maps would take away some of the challenge.

But this is a good type of challenge because with knowledge you can anticipate which flask to bring for emergencies.

Also, the mine boss is melee so if you can blind him he will struggle to hit.
How to avoid getting one-shot by map bosses:

1.) Melee -> buy 50 exalt worth of best GG uniques in the game and still pop those topaz flasks

2.) Ranged -> roll in your cheap MF gear without capped resist and kite a bit

Melee needs more offensive power to be on par with ranged :P

offensive? i do pretty damn good dps

its the fact that bosses melee dmg is retarded high because they have no other way to make the content challenging

It is supposed to be insane. It is end game.

Honestly, I would like it if they added more unique ways to make it more challenging, but I would fully expect them to leave the other requirements (over capped resists for example) alongside them.

enfeeble makes a HUGE difference.
you just had the wrong curse for him. temp chains is great for debuffs and fast casters (piety Im looking at you), but enfeeble is really the one to avoid burst damage. I use enfeeble on all curseable bosses.

even then I dont understand how you got one-shotted with those stats. fidelitas hits hard, but definitely not that hard. maybe he shotgunned you with two crits that shock stacked you ?

also your armor, like already pointed out, had no play in this as he does all elemental damage with his LS

In a game about numbers, you're crying that the game is about numbers?

If you're melee, you don't go to piety and think "I'm going to skill the crap out of her". What you do is, prior to going to piety you press "c" and click the defense panel and see if your numbers there are high enough to survive her.
If your numbers are not high enough you go kill something you can until your numbers reach a point where you can actually kill her.
After killing Piety you look at another boss and do the exact same thing.

What my problem is, that a game about numbers, about loot, gives me no goddamn loot. THAT is dumb.
