Chromatic orbs are bullshit.
" While I agree that chromatic orbs and color combos really need some working on, that item is really working against you. It's a Str/Dex hybrid, which means it has an even stronger bias towards both Red and Green sockets, so trying to roll blue sockets on it (off color) is even greater. Granted, I agree that given that's designed as a summoner-biased weapon you'd think that it would roll blues a bit more often, but sometimes logic...well...doesn't always apply to GGG. :P |

The system is working as intended. It does allow build diversity but stop trying to jam a square into a circle hoping it will fit, not to mention you've used a pretty small amount compared to what it typically takes to roll so many off colors.

" Lol are you serious? "You've used a pretty small amount".. Isn't that exactly the point? derrr Used a small amount according to your belief that it should take 1000k+ to maybe get the socket colors you want... Talk aboiy missing the whole argument |

" Missing the whole argument? OP wants to use a PURE es chest with 4 off color socket rolls, what is there to miss? Having the possibility to accomplish such a feat and making it an easy task to accomplish are two very different things. Before OP even touched that chest, they knew there was an extremely slim chance to do it. |

Another necro. Just wanted to say I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. I thought the game is about freedom of choice and shit so that we may experiment around, make hundreds of weird character builds - but this bullshit mechanic prohibits that. It severely cuts down the amount of builds you can feasibly make without any reason.

Gosh this thread again t_t ....
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Would love an orb that adds attribute requirements to an item, and shifts it's chrome weighting.
No. Calm down. Learn to enjoy losing.

The bullsh*t, imo, is the "full reroll" aspect of Chromatics and having no way to bypass it. So, there is only one way to get to your desired result, and that is to get lucky with the exact combination of socket colours that you are looking for. There is no way to take incremental steps toward your socket-colour goal (which would be nice, particularly if you are going for off-colours). Personally, I would like to see, even if just as an experiment, Chromatics being modified to only reroll open sockets. So, you get a color(s) you want, you place a gem(s) into that socket(s), and continue to reroll the remaining socket(s) until you have achieved your final colour combination. This way, you could actually make progress towards a specific combination, rather than having to wait for the exact full combination to roll while repetitively passing up partially correct colour combinations.
TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional. " Have you read the whole thing ? I doubt it, because I don't think that there is much more to discuss, that has not been discussed yet ( or maybe you have something new to bring here ? ) SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
