Chromatic orbs are bullshit.

I also want to add my experence trying to make my 6l chest offcolor


I need 1G2B3R or 1G1B4R or 2G3R1B for melee physical flicker.
So around ~ 980 crhmatics were spend on this:
I got:
1 2G4R
1 2G4B
1 2G2B2R
1 2G3B1R
4 3G3B
3 3G3R
5 3G2R1B

I partly choose to "craft" my current chest because of the sockets color =)


I knew that It'd be a pain in the a** to get it otherwise.
I don't think that getting one green socket only on a dext chest is likely whatsoever, Good luck with that, I don't honestly think that it's gonna happen :s.


But I think that the best is this one :

( bought it mostly for the colors :O, I'd like to try rainbowstride someday but .... I want those colors T_T and I have no str-based piece of gear whatsoever ... )

I never had any issues with coloring the Sockets, maybe because I usualy use the items that give the right color combinations. ^^ You usualy have some choice with different gear and of course nobody seriously wants 4 blue sockets in a STR only Item. ^^ I have alot of issues with the PoE RNG crafting system but Chromatic Orbs are the least one imho.
In fact, my stash fills up with Chromatic Orbs because you can't transfer them to other currency at the Vendors (I do not trade). Would be nice if Chromatic Orbs could be also upgraded to other Orbs instead to be an "dead end".

Most of the melee specing in the top/right part of the tree will want red sockets, where they don't use str aligned armor.
One can want at least 3 red sockets on a bow too, or even 4 ( i.e = RoA + Concentrated effect + Life Leech + BM + Weapon elemental dmg + added fire dmg ).

on 4s or 3s item its easy to roll pure off collor.
if you dont waste a lot of curency get hybrid armours.

A simple research with a shop indexer shows me tons of such items ... or not.

yeah 3 is okay I guess, but if I want my rainbowstride with it, it'd be 4 => this, isn't.
Wondering what's the average number of chroms to roll a 3 off-colors sockets though ... should have enough anyway, even if it's quite a lot.

How many did you need on average got the ones you rolled ?

On those above, average was about 60-80, maybe I was lucky (and one GRRR Maligaro costed me about 200, second 10).

Costed me about 60 chromatics.

Maybe off colors are easier to roll on non-hybrid pieces of gear then, because on all my hybrid int/dext, I have not seen many like those at all.
