PoE vs Diablo 2 - Why D2 is still better

Havn't played a game online yet that didn't have some form of tech related death mechanisnm. =P

I'm pretty thankfull however that GGG has made it possible for us from OZ/NZ to enjoy a ping/latency better than 200-250,opening up a complete different experience in online gaming.

Again however,I'm going to say that I believe POE and D2 offer different playing experiences and that's fine by me.If they were all too similar I'd only play one of them.

BWOD was frequent in early days,before servers got fixed/improved.What's so wrong with it?It wasn't even dangerous.Hit esc then replay the location.
It was 2001.Internet sucked,comp. equipment was more expensive and was primitive,compared to present days.Though,D2 got less technical issues than this game you are currently playing.

D2 is still better because playing melee was fun, playing melee in PoE is rather frustrating

They used to use their heads,you know.Successfully playing melee in D2 was possible because of well set and strictly determined complex game mechanics.Not just playing with numbers,but building a strict and complicated system,which was in synergy with ingame items and hero stats.
0.11 patch was such a disappointment i can't even describe.You cannot execute a successful project this way,impossible.Not to mention the "D" word that ruins the game,it's just boring.
We can't compare D2 and PoE.Being on the top of the top, and,on the other side, not knowing where are you going, are two incompatible comparisons.

imo this game is already beyond D2, and its still so far from its potential. If I were GGG Id be extremely happy with where things are at.

(and Id be working on grinding alternatives for high level players/ladder pushers :p)

i agree on the worse part, and quite honestly, this games content is much better, though D2 was a lovely game, MOVE ON.

Basically this game just doesnt have long term appeal to people who liked to spend lots of time finding cool gear and then fairly quickly build interesting characters to use that gear.

This game appeals to people who really liked to grind out the levels.



I think the first group I mentioned was the majority of D2 players. Im one of them.

True.. I don't know where those arcade-gamers are coming from. Certainly not D2.

Before I had a life I could go from 1-80 in probably

4-5 days.

Now that I have a life..

We see where this is going.

I love PoE just sad there is no CT league..

Wish they would do a 4 month CT league like they did anarchy and onslaught
