The pay to win Situation / PTW players

Let me put this another way... I can take some cash and support GGG ( And they deserve it ). Or I can take that same cash and buy 20 or so exalts and some gear.

This is a problem...

Take a look through the builds section and see what it takes to run even a basic build not to mention a really good one.

Now throw in a trading system that HEAVILY benefits the seller ( make an offer please - hoping the new guy over bids ) and is rife with rip offs and scams.

Just pointing out the elephant in the room and hate to see a good company like GGG getting screwed out of cash.

If you want to risk getting caught and lose your stuff just to increase your e-peen and cheapen your own experience, then it's not GGG's problem.

It's your problem. Do you want to promote RMT, cheapen your experience, and risk getting caught and lose your stuff? Then go ahead be a scumbag and RMT away. (not calling you a scumbag btw)

You like the game? Want to increase your e-peen with glowy weapons instead of in-game stats? Want to support the company that makes this game what it is? Get a supporter pack.

You can't do high maps (69+) with that much playtime. And if you can, why are you complaining?
I've seen some troll posts showing off the stash they have with lots of exalts and that has to be just a good Photoshop job dupe of the single stack of 10 they have. You never can be sure whether it's real of not. I suppose if some one has enough money they can find a way to buy what they want. I don't know why some one would want to as the whole point of playing PoE is the ability to find the items while playing.

It is a bit depressing that you have 8 characters into the 70s levels and haven't found any really good high level uniques. The lack of items scaling up to match the character level you are at has been debated a lot and while I know that this is "working as intended" it still is disheartening to here this. I posted a couple of weeks back that I got these:

on a level 2 Anarchy character which allowed me to cruise through Act I. I haven't gotten another unique to drop since then and just defeated Piety and finished Normal and am starting Cruel on 1 Anarchy and 1 HC character.

In one of the patch notes Chris stated that GGG increased the drop rate of low level uniques (2 thumbs up) while also decreasing the drop rate of high level uniques (2 thumbs down). While I don't expect that will change it is only the no-lifers that play PoE 40+ hours a week that will find any high value rares and uniques and that will leave the rest of us that are working 40+ hours a week with little hope of getting a great item at higher levels (another 2 thumbs down).

Yes, before any trolls post a comment on me I know the GGG philosophy that PoE is made for hardcore arpg players by hardcore arpg players and also if I don't like it I can quit at any time but nonetheless your comments about having eight 70s characters and have very few high level items is disappointing.

Thanks for the post.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

I dunno, I got 4 exalts before even ever getting to merciless difficulty, the RNG is harsh but there are definitely ways to trade up, you can get fusings very quickly by just IDing magic/rare items and npcing them.

I have close to 600hours played in OB and found 0 Exalts and 0 6 Links.
To gain wealth you either have to trade a lot, scam new players for their exalts, use RMT or get really lucky and drop that one item that is worth 20+ Exalts.

so much this.
you and me both, man.

also, if I happen to ever find that one item worth 20+ Exalts (which is very, very unlikely) - chances are I'll never sell it.
it gets immediately equipped and never leaves that slot again.

there is a thread here of someone who runs with ~400% IIR - which is completely insane - and finds uniques on a daily basis.
in 13 days of near-no-life farming, he found a good enough grand-total to buy one Shavronne's Wrappings.

do I believe the legitimacy of a player who spent <200 hours in this game, and already has a few stacks of Exalted Orbs, several godly uniques (6-linked, of course), and all equipped gems at +20 quality? no, I sure as hell don't.
he'd better donate all that cash to GGG and buy a supporter pack, than fuel the f***ing Chinese underworld, paying-up shady RMT sites.

That is a problem with exalts and how RMT has taken over them.

GGG needs to add an exalt vendor recipe.
