Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" Aye. I remember you as well. It's funny, but if I recall Torchlight 2 never gave in to doing full respecs. The people that wanted it used the console to get respec potions without being flagged as a cheater. You could even modify your stash in Torchlight 2 via hex editors or whatever. Torchlight 2 was a very casual aRPG. You couldn't ruin what was meant for fun and little or no competition. By the way, I didn't tell Runic Games to implement instanced looting in their game... so I'm puzzled why you said such a thing. I think you meant full respecs, which last I checked didn't kill the game. You know what did? Can't party with people in a different NG than you are. Many people probably also quit because of no in-game lobby chat system or w/e. It was a fun game for what it was. ____________________________________________________ By the way I dunno who has been worse: Vooodu on this forum, or mushioov while I was on the torchlight forums? Both attack individuals rather than the points they've made for who knows why. Also, both consider what they type as 'feedback' ??? No. If you look on page 1 GGG said they would prefer actual feedback on the matter. Some of you guys just seem way too uptight about everything. This has just turned into a big troll thread. There's no real issue here. I hope this thread hits a max page limit, gets locked, and no new ones open up.

" Although widely off topic I'd say that adding difficulty sohuldn't come too much from adding to direct damage of monsters since like always it's spikes that kill you, not the sustained 'normal' damage. I wouldn't mind dropping the quantity bonus alltogether and just put +50% monster pack size per extra player :) Would make for some epic fights against huge packs of champions and rares would come in multiples too =) Anyway, this is widely off topic so I apologize for the answer, and hope someone can dig up the appropriate thread for continuing this path of discussion if deemed relevant. |

" Ostrich much? |

" Just because you are ignorant of the issues, doesn't mean we don't have valid feedback here. IGN: Mibuwolf

" yeah sure we have nothing better to do than bash without valid claims/facts..... go to your scrubcore league with the eazy mode partying...here we are true hardcore players When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself

" One of the posters points is valid… This debate has lasted so long that it’s hard provide feedback/suggestions that haven’t been mentioned already. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

" Let me sum up your valid claims/facts: The loot system they intended for the game is too unfair because: a. People get your loot because you have a shitty internet and can't afford real internet & b. It's too much work for a person to kill monsters AND pick up loot Did I miss anything? |

" Yes… c. Server dsync prevents looting d. Loot system harms social community IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

" ... except that it isn't a matter of "fairness". It's just about improving the features of the game. Currently the timer takes away the FFA that a lot of people really want, such as vooodu has stated, but some people would rather not have that competitiveness in their party they created, which is also true. Not to mention the current loot implementation has names as to suggest that items belong to that player. It is incorrect, but the names directly imply to the player that it is theirs, therefore the miscommunication you've seen already occurs. There's a bit more to it than what I've stated, but I've given a few fair points that had nothing to do with "fairness" at all. IGN: Mibuwolf Last edited by mibuwolf#7946 on Mar 14, 2013, 2:00:49 PM
