Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" OMFG look who's here. I remember you. You are one of the cancers who destroyed TL2 with your constant casual whining of instanced loot etc. that doesn't belong to ARPGs. Disgusting, go back to TL2 which you destroyed or do you intentionally roam around ARPG forums to casualize them for the likes of you? Why the f*** am I seeing all those whiners from TL2 forums now here, now whining to make the same goddamn mistakes with PoE which destroyed TL2 in the first place? You got your way, you got your TL2 as you wanted, and it got DESTROYED like we told you it would! Seriously, WTF are you doing here!? GGG, please, do not EVER listen to these whiners and their self-entitled needs. Runic made the mistake of listening and appealing to the masses and forumwhiners and now hardly anybody plays their game anymore. I was there, we warned them time after time. As you can see, even the whiners switched to this better game after destroying their first target. That should ring some bells. They're like locusts, moving around and raping everything in their path. Do not, EVER lose your cut-throat, merciless, "only for the most hardcore of hardcore" -vision of the game, or my contribution for all of this was in vain. " For someone who is calling people "whiners" you sure appear to be doing more of it than anyone else I see around here. Calm down it will be ok if someone has a different opinion than you. I would debate with you about each point that you attempted to make in that freak out post you just made but I wouldn't want you to blow a gasket or something. p.s. ninja looting is not hardcore. That is silly. Standard Forever Last edited by iamstryker#5952 on Mar 14, 2013, 6:41:01 AM

just stop playing if you hate the system. Personally thats what i did. Stopped playing until they give me an option to choose loot, OR making group play and solo difficulty on par. Right now soloing is too tough compared to grouping which is piss easy and dumb and more rewarding

" Multiplayer is the easiest way to play the game and only has a frustrating loot system to create the illusion of difficulty. Solo is hardcore and has no frustrating loot system. GGG please do not listen to posters like mushioov. Finish your changes to the loot system and increase the challenge of multiplayer. I want the game to be hard, but the loot system does not accomplish that. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

Giving parties looting options seems like a win-win move. I think the loot option would speed the game up, as it would hopefully remove timers completely for FFA and camping items won't be necessary. I prefer the FFA style, the "cut throat" factor doesn't do anything for me, I'd rather just go after an item I actually need than one I'll just end up vendoring. Instanced loot would be nice too because you could hide items and actually see the enemies until the fight is over. One complaint I have about this game is that actually seeing the enemies is too difficult and that majority of the problem comes from the piles of loot on the screen.

" You keep saying this. I was running pugs all afternoon yesterday and saw a few HC deaths over lv 60. It CAN be easier if you have a good group, but if you have the wrong mix or people, who stir up too much trouble it can go wrong very fast. There is plenty of risk in groups from what I see. |

" Multiplayer is significantly easier that solo. This is an established fact. For each additional player in the group you increase base player damage output by 80-110% while base monster HP is only increased by 50%. Monster damage is never increased. So for every player that is added to the group monsters die that much faster. Just because you see an occasional player die in a group setting does not prove that multiplayer is as hard as solo. Think about how many level 60+ players die in a solo setting. So when people try and claim that the loot system is ‘hardcore’ I laugh a little because they playing easy mode. They should try to see how far they can get in solo hardcore. IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

" Monsters don't get damage increases when players join a party, only health increases. So the only added risk is the possibility that your party members will be griefers who troll you with Frost Wall and the like. |

" Yes it is. The devs have said multiple times that it's a game _from_ hardcore gamers _for_ hardcore gamers. We supporters supported because of the hardcore vision of their game and no new-wave casuals are going to turn that around. Your point is invalid. " The loot system is near perfect and it's just the way it was planned. It's only frustrating and difficult to you who can't handle competition and alertness and then come to the forums to whine about it. Grow a pair, L2P or go back to D3, you can pick your answer. Fortunately GGG isn't going to "change the loot system" as they are intelligent enough not to appeal to the whining masses. What the masses think they want and what they really enjoy are usually the opposites. " No options. Everyone's supposed to be on the same line. You didn't get that FFA item from the ground and someone snatched it? TOUGH LUCK. Next time, be faster. " You should be lucky even to have the timers. "Ninja looting" doesn't even exist. It's everyone's items and who gets it first, gets it, get it? Last edited by mushioov#0149 on Mar 14, 2013, 10:08:23 AM
