Keep FFA loot as the other option.

Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.
You dont get it - masses will flock to the easiest option and they will never turn down the choice of making things more easy and mindless

In the end they will bring their own downfall just like Diablo 3 and the whole of Blizz, not understanding why - they just wanted it to be easier and more mindless

Who are these masses? Surely the hardcores like yourself - this core playerbase that GGG want and that are not casuals - would pick FFA loot all the time?

Or did you just concede that most players would prefer instanced loot?

Then instead of just repeating this, why don't you try to think about a way to reduce complaints about looting without making everybody flock to an easier option, whether than easier option is the only option available or not.

And please don't just say your idea is "My way or no way, go back to d3 if you cant handle it"

Perhaps the party leader could have the option to increase or reduce the timer on loot. So if you are partying with the intent of taking other people's loot, set the timer to low. If you want a friendly environment, set it to high. Though increased loot timers may be considered just another easier option.

So you are just picking apart other people suggestions without providing any of you own?

I have:

Make loot show up for others only after the timer has expired for its named person.

That will ideally prevent people just stacking up on top of the loot waiting for timers to expire and blocked the one whos name is on it, etc.

Not saying this is the best solution, i just hope they will consider it.

The thing is, the masses want a game so mindless that they do good. Those, im sure you wouldn't mind me calling "pros", like their knowledge to reflect in their performance, gain and status within the game. That means they seek the games where you can use your ability and skill to improve personal performance and gain.

Thing is when a game is only mindless players left it dies, because these mindless players are from the masses and follow their masters - and when the masters do not feel they can use their knowledge well they move on, making the game uninteresting for the crying masses.

The crying masses secretly want to do what their masters are doing, be what they are.

This is because it's a hardcore game and not made for baddies who prefer softcore. Everything is relative in the world.

I wish I could set up a hard map with yourself and my friend Charlie, who is a MASTER loot ninja. I assure you if he went with his Marauder and you took a ranged class, then either he'd take 80% of the loot assigned to you OR you would die trying to prevent him from doing that, most probably both. He's a master.


What is this "ninjaing", that you refer to? It's people like you who import terms like that from WoW, even though it doesn't have any meaning here, since none of the loot is exclusively yours to pick up after the timer runs out.
