Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.
" Sorry, this is not true. Players who can focus both on combat and loot will get the most rewards. I take it you have never rolled with a good group? |
|
" Yes you are. A choice of loot systems is a compromise. You are against it. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" 1) First of all it is not hard to loot camp. My templar is far tankier than any build that you have. I could loot camp and steal loot all day but I find it a boring and stupid way to play the game. 2) Second of all this game is offically retarded if you have to build a character simply to have the ability to pick up loot in public games. Ya I said it. If you think you have skill in this game then I think your a sad person who needs more to do with his life. Standard Forever

" In the confusion of a 6 player group, doing nothing more than casting the odd spell and hoovering loot will maximize your profit. It will slow the group down by a tad, but you will get much more loot in the end so it's worth it. Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

" An unrealistic example of an unexperienced player (literally). Maybe in random fellshrine farm where there is no monster challenge and mediocre drops, someone with a garbage build can just focus on loot to the max and get it. However if you get to the real endgame - maps, you cant just lol around looting with a fail build character that can't fight. " This qoute i have said just before, i suggest you read it. Without FFA loot you are encouraged to build a weakling char and just wait for your loot in safety. With FFA you are enouraged to be able to hold your own so that you may get your loot. The fear of losing your loot drives the gameplay forward, you forget sense of time, hours, even days can pass by in an instant and all you thought about was loot. That being said - I stil believe the timer should only be visible after it has run out of its player, so that people cannot focus on loot and just stand afk waiting for timer to expire. They won't even know it's there before everyone can loot it. I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all. " Loot options are not needed. That goes against the point of this kind of game. And people will just flock to the easiest 'option'. Also, options for lot make the game kind of cheesey. The only thing that is truly needed is a side to be picked by GGG. Either go full free for all loot and remove the named timers. Which would pretty much kill off the whiney ninja baby threads/complaints. Or... Go full on instanced loot and make the game boring but alot more friendly for the casual players. Since what they can't see won't hurt them. |

" Fun fact: Those who solo everything are playing a more difficult game and therefore would technically be better at the game than those who played in a group. So I guess most of the pro loot options supporters here would be better than you eh? You calling people bad for not camping drops is pretty funny. " I found this statement ironic, seeing as the majority of his arguments in the next 2 pages consisted of the words "Mad coz bad". |
|
" I have played this game for over a year in CB. I have had plenty of good groups but they are the exception and not the rule. GGG is changing the system. Hypothetically they add an instanced option to public parties. What could they do to keep some of the loot competition that you enjoy? IGN: Wrathmar * Paulie * Client

" You already agreed with me before that the easiest option is private games Vooodu. So why are you still saying this? It doesn't make any sense. Standard Forever
