Looting -- The official thread for discussing the loot system. Updated 18th March, 2013.

Seeing things from others perspectives is one of my specialties.

The truth is people are mad coz bad, and thats all there is to it.

Each time they come here to whine they will get a whooping and be rofled at because the truth is they are mad coz bad, and i would be lying to tell you otherwise in order to spare your feelings.

You can the sit in the group pretending there is no survival of the fittest and that its not the better players who positions themselves right for their own and others loot, having spent their knowledge to build a character that can do exactly that.

Holy shit gameplay, Batman!

I prefer to position myself to best confront the enemy while supporting my team mates, while they do the same. Maps go quicker and smoother and with few deaths when people focus ob combat and play well.

I suppose you do maps with complete randoms all the time?

Come on, none of you in here seem to be as retarded you can't find any friends. I am sure you meet loads of people who are just like you and want to do maps with trustworthy people.

So...if people are making friends they can trust and honouring the named loot that drops anyway....they are basically not using the FFA loot system anyway....so....it's not really fit for purpose....or at least should be replaced by an OPTION to make it how you want to play?
Did you know level 91 is the halfway point to level 100? This means that a softcore character dying ONCE at level 85+ can lose many days of progress.

They are changing the system because they listen to their customers. Lost loot is not the biggest problem with the current system. For me it is a tie between players not focusing on the combat; and players not taking the time to socialize.

Again the question to you is how do they change it while keeping some of the competition that you enjoy?

Maybe it has more to do with the fact that loot go to the one who deserve / need / can use items that drop when you play with friends?

Fact is you just want to ruin the fun for everyone that CAN deal with FFA loot, because you can't get over yourself to realize your chances are fair, and even the worse you are, the more fair the chances are.

Another way of saying it, is that not FFA loot means those who slack behind and etc etc etc are getting more loot than they deserve. Consider that its the same group that complain, these guys are saying they want more than they deserve coz they are bad and if they dont they will keep cry. Well keep crying its your own issue. Let your tears flood Wraeclast.

With non-FFA you are encouraged to slack, whereas with FFA you are encouraged to hold your own in the battle and claim loots among the midst.

If you hang in and play PoE for years, i am sure you will creates memories but good and bad, but nonetheless very memorable about loot. It's the real deal, the real ARPG that's not for spoon fed kiddies.

Just for Crackmonster's understanding...

I am not mad because I am bad. I am mad because the social aspect of this MULTIPLAYER game is non-existant...and it is mostly because of the loot.

In what way does asking for BOTH loot systems to be supported ruin your fun? By arguing against the OPTION, *you* are the only one trying to ruin others' fun.

In the current timer allocated system the player who focuses on loot over combat will get the most rewards for time invested.

This is NOT a reason to change anything.

Everyone focuses on combat. You make it sound as if people are standing arond with their fingers in their bum wating for loot to rain down all day.

Because thats not what i see. People stop fighting for barely a split second to pick up drops they need/want. The better the group works at killing 'FAST' the more random loot to vulture over.

Also, even if instanced loot where to happen i would stil stop fighting for a split second to pick up a drop i needed/want. Priorities and all..

Exactly. FFA loot encourages you focus on loot and thus slack in comabt. Sheesh.

And again the answer is: They join D3 a game made to these ideals, and let PoE be the pureblood and hardcore ARPG it was destined to be.

I am not agaist all having fun and compomises, bute veryone should be the same. This is a specialized product for hardcore ARPG lootlusters, and not a product for masses.

There are plenty masses badness outthere, and funny enough, when ppl cry and eventually get their will with weak minded devs, then the game becomes boring afterwards and those they complained should not have the loot they deserves for their efforts, are no longer there to boost them. In fact all who want a mental challenge leave.

Just let go, trust in that some of us have seen both with and without and feel confident saying that FFA drives the gameplay.
