I think they're laughing behind the scenes.

This is what happens when you pander to a crying mob.
Providing the players with what is essentially a maphack should've never been done in the first place, so this 'response' was to be anticipated.

Then again, if you're someone who thinks they need this in order to play the game, or clear maps, then you're precisely the reason for why there is no rhyme, nor reason to this endgame.
Sit down and be quiet.

there is no rhyme or reason to the endgame because... of the players? thats funny.

i think it has to do with one deveopment team designing two games at once... and getting lost in which direction they are going in depending on what day of the week it is.

how much rhyme or reason would you have... if you were told every few days... weeks... even every month or two... that you have to have one philosophy during one job... and another completely different one, on the other job you now have to do, whenever your manager decides you have to do it?

i dont think you would have much rhyme or reason either. and its clear these developers dont either.

want to learn good advice? dont give a baby a lolipop, and then take it away after they start licking it. its what the old timers call, 'indian gifting'. guess what happens when you do that? the baby starts crying.

something youve probably heard in your life... and there is a good reason for it. cuz it doesnt work.

you dont give players something they asked for, where it was pretty universally liked, and fit the design choice of 'faster mapping'... and then take it away a couple months later. for no reason what so ever.

its not good behavior. its not good business wise. and it isnt good gameplay wise.

dont point the finger at the baby, and tell them its their fault they are crying, when you are the one, who took away the lolipop you gave them in the first place.

They've gotta be trolling. Look, I honestly don't care whether or not rare icons are on the minimap or not. I explore maps fully regardless, so I have no stake in this change.

But to outwardly say that the goal for this patch is to lessen the time it takes to clear maps, only to remove the one thing that gave players some degree of direction as to where they need to move towards in order to clear maps, it's gotta be some kind of sick joke. It's like saying "I wanna help you start eating healthier" and then bringing you mcdonalds and mountain dew.

It's actually comical at this point.

But I love this game so, I'll keep sinking my time into it indefinitely.

Maps are objectivbely faster now as you only have to kill the boss to complete the map. What a wild and ridiculous take. And to be so over the top while also being wrong? LMAO
If you are "wasting" your time in maps and they are SLOW to you, you are missing 2 things : Speed and AOE. GGG literally made maps so small, I clear 1 waystone in less than 5. 7 if it has more content. 8 if abyss.

Why is everybody so surprised with this?

Game was fundamentally made to distance slightly from zooming, that's why poe1 and poe2 is separate.

I know what you want to say, "the money argument and something about "majority".

It was supposed to be faster only for super big maps, that's what they specifically said and if you're zoomer there is high chance the game is not going to cater to you, although we will see, but set your expectations right.

The endgame is made for zooming, wtf are you talking about?
Even the fat guy said it on multiple "interviews" that the campain is slow and the end game fast.

With the speed of the mobs in maps, there is NO time for setting up 10 combos to kill each single fucking mob.

quote of the year my dude
Did they give a reason why they are removed? It is super annoying.

I am not a 'zoomy' player but I still liked something to aim at, especially on larger maps with lots of backtracking.

If some people feel passionate about having elite markers off why not just create an on/off toggle in options? Everyone wins.

Nah.

It's just that devs are way too open to follow player suggestions even when the suggestions are completely opposite to the design of the game.

This whole rant would've perhaps made a modicum of sense *if* the majority of people playing this game were actual babies, or even young teens.

Guess what? There have been many polls done before especially on reddit... less than 1% of players reported to be below the age of 20.

Some food for thought, friend.
