Speaking of which, props to GGG for making the first online game i have ever played that i have not cheated the everliving fuck out of.

I guess this statement is what I mean. Ones enjoyments and hobbies are one thing. Paying to cheat in a game is different than buying the game (or supporting it by buying a weapon glow effect or someting like that).

I just dont see the point in cheating in a game. I guess it doesnt get more simple than that.
Well my personal reason for cheating in the games that i have was to make a profit, or benefit me in some way.

I would never actually RMT to gain an in game advantage. I'm a cheapskate unless there is something i really like about the game or the company making it.

Funnily enough, my guild leader actually paid for the cash-shop materials required for me to hack our +15 weapons in vind, and then i ended up the swords and spears i had (that he paid to create) back to him for $500 each after the hack got fixed, since i had chosen better base types than him.

Haha, nice.

I take it you see the irony in that as well and find it funny bringing me back to why I think the joke is on the op.

Somewhere someone like u (or previous u) are having a blast cause someone buys exalted for 10$/piece. It must get even sweeter when they make forum threads qq'ing about having no choice but to do it.
Mmmm haha,it takes former shady gamers to understand the sort of detriment we are to a games health and community, also how easy it is to avoid any real consequence to ones self. Also it takes a former bad guy to understand why developers need to aggressively chase down users as much as sellers.

I've got a life time ban on all Sony games since way back in Everquest original. So sad the ban changed absolutely nothing and myself/guild continued to wreak havoc on Sonys later online titles.

I don't believe that the majority of RMT users or legit players have a clue of the enormity of game currency being traded, especially in end game play in so many games.

At any rate, wether the OP is legit or not in his claims,RMT is here in POE and it isn't going away any time soon.

oh I can see it quite clearly. it's a f*ing plague.

I know I'm very poor for a level 72. there are level 20 players richer than me.
but when I see someone my level going crazy with stacks of GCP, Divines and Exalted - I know for a fact he's been to RMT. more than once probably.

there are rich people in the game, but 9 out of 10 players who can post a "WTB Kaom's Heart" in trade chat, and aren't level 90+ - are most definitely not legit.
Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat
Shadow: That was fun

if game companies continue to focus primarily on the sellers, you're right... sellers are tech-savvy hard-working types who can figure out ways to bypass pretty much any digital obstacle in their path, and are motivated by dollars

on the other hand, rmt buyers are definitely not savvy enough to find/create their own bots, find the obstacle of slaying monsters in-game to be too great a challenge, and are motivated by convenience

skip hunting the sellers, once you have sufficient anti-bot security to stop the casual botter the only ones left will be those motivated by dollars, where botting is part of a business plan

instead, invest that energy in banning huge swaths of buyers. focus on the actual transaction, develop a heuristic for auto-flagging suspicious trades and drops. in a very public way, explain that getting high-value items from other players for nothing will get you banned, along with any and all forms of multiboxing, even something as simple as muling... then enforce that statement in an aggressive ban-first, appeal-later manner... this means no customers, no customers means no business plan, no business plan means no botting

pretty sure that would be much more devastating against rmt than playing wars of attrition with the rmt sellers themselves

And what would be a heuristic that would be flagged solely for suspicious trades and never for otherwise reasonable trades? You'd probably catch thousands of legitimate trades for every few illegal trades in this matter.

Nope. This benefits sellers significantly and doesn't discourage RMT.

When some of the people i was selling to got banned, it meant they would make a new account and come to me to buy back all the gold they lost.

My feeling:

You play one character and one character only, you are not "elite".

You use RMT in any fashion to progress, you are not "elite".

The only reason you are in the "top tier" is due to these factors, therefore, I wouldn't consider you "elite", just another PTW no-lifer.

Couln't agree more. OP is a nolife noob. L2P, stop cheating and QQ.
