" Nope,as I said earlier the ladder's been cheapened/compromised,it's meaningless, regardless of wether the ladder leaders cheat/RMT or not now.Not worth caring about. Besides I've been playing D2 ladder reset, some Neverwinter & X.com EU while waiting on Custom leagues or at the least an official self found/no drop league. Until no drop leagues with ladder resets are implemented and some other issues (many of which you covered in your excellent thread if I may mention) are rectified then POE is on the back burner for me. " The ladder was always fairly meaningless because they offer no prize for being high up there. Even races are cheapened because the rewards are so weak that a lot of the guys racing the ladder would rather work on their main characters. If they have endgame that they can actually play, or at least reasonably acquire without complete dependence on RNG, and then you'll have a sustainable permanent league, inflation or not. |

Just 1 guy actually trying to get to 100 & apparently he is doing it on a wave of other people's RMT....I wonder how GGG will congratulate him for hitting 100 in a few days...should be interesting.

" I would translate the above as 'many of the top players have resorted to cheating because they don't find an incomplete game fun enough'. Oh, boo-hoo, they HAD to cheat, right? They had no other choice, right? In a very grind heavy game the death penalty equates to...more grinding.

It's sad that people spend thousands of dollars on RMT for (maybe) a week of (at this moment quite dirty) glory instead of buying diamond supporters in this way touching the game forever. Not to mention it speeds up content development.
Oh well... |

" "They don't find the game fun enough" isn't a valid criticism? In what world...? |

" Valid criticism? Sure. Valid excuse for cheating? Not even close. In a very grind heavy game the death penalty equates to...more grinding.

" once you get to lvl73+ maps, you want 100%+ quantity and a good stat like Maze or Pack Size. when you're in lvl74-77 maps, you use Exalteds pretty much every time to help out that quantity number. imagine using tons of alts/chaos/regals/exalteds for pretty much every map you do. a lvl99 is getting like 1% from lvl75 maps, probably still only 1% from lvl77 maps. 100 maps to level up. then on top of that, they need high end gear to survive these maps constantly because if you die even once at that high level, you're not even in the standings anymore. i've played this game and mapped long enough to know that sometimes you'll have a 20-map dry spell. i've been to lvl75+ maps numerous times, and the same story happens: maps stop dropping, or if they drop, they're lower level maps. also, in order for someone to run with in a little elite group constantly in those high level maps, a lot of currency has to be used. normal people even have to sell their own stuff to afford mapping in the 70-73 range. it's either leveling up or buying an item, not both, for 90% of this community. time isn't the only factor to leveling up in PoE. you can't just not investigate something like this by saying he's been at it since day 1. so have i and most of my friends. none of us used RMT sites, but we sure as hell thought about it. :/ "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." " Heh. Looking at the way things are developing, perhaps by putting bans on everyone that ever said something against RMT/jsp would be a nice first step? The next, bug out account creation. Too risky for possible backslash. You know, beta, bugs happen. How dare we question the integrity of people that love the game so much to spend 1000s. /sarcasm off |
