Death Penalty

1. I dont see what that has to do with anything either you or me wrote. When someone says "the majority of players" then they are obviously talking about the people playing the game not some number on a steam chart months ago.

2. What does any of those examples have to do with reaching level 100? How is breach splinters posing a challenge to my goal of hitting level 100?

1. You cannot pretend to speak for the majority of POE 2 players, that they enjoy the rough grind to level 100, and then ignore that the majority of POE 2 players stopped playing the game less than 4 weeks after a big update. It does not work that way.

2. The challenge to level 100 that you crave, already exists in hardcore mode.

1. You cannot pretend to have any knowledge that those two are linked.

2. So finally weve run out of excuses and left with the answer. There would be no challenge in hitting 100 in softcore. Which was my entire point and you couldve saved yourself some time by just admitting it right away. You want reaching level 100 in softcore to just be free and with no challenge or need for skill. And I disagree I think that sounds awful and boring.

1. You claimed that the majority love the grind to level 100, but then why is the majority not even attempting to grind to level 100? Explain the contradiction Nyon.

2. That's not correct. I said that the challenge YOU crave (i.e. to never die or else face major consequence) already exists in hardcore. Players must still put in obscene amounts of time investment & must adjust their build so that it can actually kill monsters.

Get rid of exp loss. Hardcore exists. Masochists have their option.

1. First off thats not at all what I claimed, secondly that still has nothing to do with weither or not that has any relevence on why people stopped playing

2. Ok so then if im not correct. Please can you finally answer. Specificly what is the challenge? If the worst player in the game can just die over and over and still reach 100, where is the challenge? What part about reaching level 100 is challenging?
Get rid of it in Softcore. You can add more exp to reach 100 for all i care. Just get rid of the NEGATIVE progress !!!

I won't answer anything else from you until you own your prior statement and answer the question I asked first. Do you have any explanation for how you've come to know that most POE 2 players enjoy the XP loss system, despite the fact that most POE 2 players are choosing to walk away from the game rather than engage with the grind?

I'll answer your question in earnest. Yes, there is an explanation.

Ready?

There is zero evidence that the loss of players is due to experience loss. There are a myriad of other things people are upset about, build diversity and lack of loot being top contenders. To assume NONE of those people are leaving, but ALL the people are leaving for YOUR exact reason is some nonsense thinking.

You're asking someone to give an explanation to a scenario that may very well not exist outside your head (or the heads of far fewer than you think).

Example (and proof by contradiction): I have quit playing since 0.2 launch. It was not due to the death penalty. Therefore 100% of people leaving were not due to the death penalty, so unless you have statistics to give an actual percentage, stop acting so goddamn superior and realize you might not be as smart as you think.
lets be real for a second and not thinking out of your butt feeling, you want to remove death penalty? fine, but what about the consequences of doing that?

ever think about that? ever think with brain and not your ass??

Knowing PoE players and community.

they will absolutely gonna abuse the no-penalty on death, they will find a way and you will hate it even more for them abusing that shit.

then comes the complaining about that theres no more penalty, because the old player used to play a game where theres risk and reward for playing the game, like... you know, the whole PoE1 Community, souls game, and any other rpg game basically.

and they will complain even harder than you.

so either risking losing the mainstream player who used with risk and reward game like it used to be, like any normal game, or satisfying your modern audience ass.

i know what ggg will choose.

I go boss farming only after fresh lvl up. What does that mean ? I HAVE NO DEATH PENALTY. I farm maps and avoid bosses or unpredictable events while im in between lvls. I basically farm white and blue mobs. There is literally no reason to have exp penalty in Softcore. Coz we work around it already as it is. It is just ANNOYING but since its there we have to go around the annoying part.

If you want a IMPACTFUL PUNISHMENT then DE-Level or delete skill levels or gear pieces on death. You have HARDCORE. Death penalty there is DELETION. We have T17 maps with VOIDED option. OPTION and not a FORCED participation. If you CHOOSE to play that map then you can get deleted in softcore the same way as if you played hardcore.

OPTIONS ARE GOOD. FORCED GAMEPLAY IS NOT !
