I'm worried GGG took our money and ran

GGG devs used to be gamers back then. Now they are devs. Priority is no longer on content or quality or community(at least not gaming community). Priority is money. It's obvious from their actions and their interview.

Couldn't agree more. Every time these game directors do an interview, I lose more faith that they actually play, or want to play, this game.

Might also help if they interacted with the community in any way whatsoever.

Roadmap ? There's none .

I was using the term the person before me used. You're right. There's no official roadmap, negating what they said even further.

In the post TenCent era of GGG, the developers are WAY less communicative than they used to be. In the early days of PoE, if GGG screwed something up, the very next day there would be a thread headed with an apology, typically by Chris Wilson, himself, explaining the cause behind the problem, and what GGG was doing to fix it.

Under normal circumstances, as development went on, there would be frequent Dev posts, expressing all the excitement and anticipation the Devs were feeling as they worked on The Next Big Thing, even if secrecy meant they couldn't be specific about the details. In short, GGG earned a reputation for being communicative, and for those of us who were here for that, it seems very strange that weeks are going by with little or no communication from the team ostensibly currently at work on The Next Big Thing.

Why that may be, we can only speculate about. But if I wanted to fan the flames of enthusiasm for my passion project, you can bet I'd be talking the ear off of absolutely anybody I could get to listen. ='[.]'=

They'd cut back a good bit on communication by 3.0, well before Tencent got involved. If you don't think it's the vile demanding children screaming 100x louder than everyone else to make it like Diablo, or Guild Wars, or Animal Crossing or wtf ever that got them to just shut up until they have like...REAL big news for people to get excited about, I dunno what to tell you.

They're in an abusive relationship with...US.
The lack of communication and refusal to acknowledge game breaking bugs made me stop playing, why dedicate my time to someone that just ignores feedback and/or game breaking bugs in EA?

I want the best for this game but the devs silence is loud.

The thing is: We don't know how they prioritize things that have to be developed. Don't forget, that there is ALOT to do for this EA.

- 3 new acts
- double the weapons
- tons of new skills and support gems
- balancing
- buf fixing

Maybe GGG just thinks, that the game is playable enough to shift from bug fixing to content creation. And after that, they may introduce an economic reset thanks to the new content and then start balancing again.

GGG doesn't have to exactly tell us what their workflow priorities are. Yes, it would be nice, but as long as they keep developing this game, I don't mind if they just concentrate on that and stay silent between the interviews/news. Many EA games do it like that and it works, at least in many cases.

And if it troubles you so much, an alternative would be to leave the game behind for 1-2 month and come back and take a look, if things have happened. And there is nothing wrong with that, it may be even healthier for you in the end.

can I ask why you're talking like this when the company themselves set a goal to release at earliest of six months?

they've added lights in fog in 2 months dude
Not reading this whole thread down, but this is pretty much their modus operandi.

1. Release something big, have a live thread with updates/fixes they're making
2. Next week or two, small patches for big crashes and game-breaking build/broken itmes
3. Medium-to-large x.x.1 patch with lots of changes, ~1 month after release.
4. Radio silence for a while as they work on new stuff
5. Sometimes small fixes or even a medium-sized balance patch if things are going poorly.
6. Basically silent until the announce-of-the-announce, which in POE 1 typically came 2-3 weeks before the new league.
7. Announcement and patch notes, for major change and league reset. Typically a few days before league starts. Then repeat.

It's perhaps disappointing that they're not making sweeping changes since it's EA, but I guess I'm not that surprised. They're also supposed to be delivering a POE 1 league next month, so they're probably torn between how much POE 2 they want to do and getting the next POE 1 league out the door.

Those saying they're lacking communication, they've already done more than they would for a typical POE 1 league. But agreed, it seemed like they'd treat POE 2 EA like it was important and be making regular, sweeping changes, and that hasn't happened.

I'm about as anti-ggg as you can be while still playing the game these days and im telling you i have absolute faith in them finishing the game and zero worry about them running off with our money.

Take a swig
It's gonna be ok.

I'm not anti GGG but I also do not worship other humans that are paid to do a job. A job I am currently not satisfied with their work on. Personally I am also not as optimistic as you because I think many of these are design choices that are bad. I have no doubt GGG has top notch devs who know how to code and do their jobs but I have a problem with the design choice. It's just not a fun game to play and believe me I've tried hard to search for it. Hopefully this changes but I do not share your absolute faith in GGG.

Dude, they had a break and they said "earliest" and also said it may also take one year. On top of that, they changed dozens of uniques, fixed certain bugs and balanced some skills. Yes, it may not sound much, but from these 7 weeks, they were like 4 weeks on break.

Why so impatient?
