They seamed to be unaware of a bug that didnt let you proc bleed on es, which they immedietly conceded on and said would get fixed.

This was a bit weird, I felt like they didn't understand or had forgotten something.

Yes that was weird. Because they said it was supposed to go trough energy shield. Which would work poorly for CI builds I gather xD

A single Bleed proc would be instadeath for every single CI build.
IDK what they were thinking.

Or MoM (terrible drawback skill) becomes mandatory.

Where are you getting this utter nonsense from?
Nowhere in that interview did he have to explain to them how rarity works.

I generally disagree with the OP but they kinda have a point on this.

J&M did seem to consider rarity affecting currency as an afterthought, something they hadn't fully considered until it was pointed out. And then conceded that looking at currency it operates much like quantity because you only care about the higher value currency.

But it was a long interview and they said a lot of good stuff. But on this they didn't really hit the mark, and on bleed they left me confused (and worried).

Rarity affects the type of orbs you're getting.
Transmutations = useless, abundant, of no value.
Exalts / Regals / Divines = useful.

So yes, you do get more (quantity).
Stating otherwise implies that Transmutations have the same value as Exalts, and that's not really a basis to have a discussion on.

No your just factually incorrect.

Quantity = more items drops
Rarity = the items that do drop are more likely to be of a higher value

So the fact is that rarity doesnt give you more items like it did in poe1.
If your comparing it in a vacuum where you only care about raw divine orb drops, then yes it has the same end effect in that vacuum, but it is in no way the same. Trying to say that its the same is insanity when even a toddler can understand the difference.

One of the big contributors to them removing quantity was the massive amount of items dropping in poe1 because of item quantity and juiced maps.

If you remove quantity and replace it with rarity then more items wont drop, you are just more likely to get good items.

So your wrong and instead of explaining why your not wrong its just "ggg doesnt understand the mechanic". They understand it better then you will ever do.

Please read what I wrote, before you respond to it, otherwise my effort to respond to you is wasted and pointless :)

Yes that could be a fair point. But its a stretch going from you thinking they were underprepared in their answer to making an entire post about them not understanding how any of their mechanics work. Ofc they understand how rarity works, that doesnt mean that they never make mistakes.

Ah yes, I haven't really played anything in that part of the tree. This would become mandatory I guess.

But, I do think they are mistaken as IIRC the tooltip actually says only hits that affect life can cause bleed. But I could be misremembering something I read elsewhere.

i dont get what s the fuss. bleed is physical dmg. it doesnt go through es, only chaos does.
the bug is that apparently you need to at least lose 1 life for bleed to proc. wich makes cs immune to bleed which there is no reason to.
i think it s as simple as that.

you cant expect them to be fully clear on a strange bug that doesnt make sense on a live interview with hundreds of questions ahead.

It's a hack'n slash, not Track and Field.

The "fuss" is that they implied that Bleed should go through ES, meaning Bleed proc = instakill for CI, and MoM = mandatory.
