poe 2 sucks the fun out of gaming
" 1. Pro on cons to this 2. Agree they are bad. 3. True 4. True but not really horrible, hopefully they add checkpoints to maps like they did in campaign 5. Na, free respec isn't the best idea, there really does need to be a cost associated to prevent constant changing. 6. That's debated but I'd argue if you hate the campaignn you hate the game anyway, as maps and campaign levels are basically the same. 7. Yes and? Does poe1 still have mirrored acts 1-3 or did they add 4-10? Don't be dishonest. 8. Does the trade site work? Yes. Does having a 3rd part do it alleviate dev stress to allow them to work on other game areas? Yes. Is the site more robust than any other AH I have ever seen in any other game? Yes. So what exactly is the issue? 9. Meh, it's wa league which won't even be moved to standard, annoying but irrelevant no real pressure to do this as the bots will find a way back anyway, let em taint this so they can't taint the real game layer, is my imo. 10. Agree I hate this as well. |

" Bro, your viewpoints are your viewpoints I'm not taking anything away from that and I'm glad we agree about some of it, but I was asking the guy that's going up and down the forums white-knighting about the game like it's the second coming or something. He's ignoring that there are definitely things people don't like about the game and is shillingly suspicious. Also, yes, the second half of POE 1 is a mirror of the first half. I mean, you even fight the same bosses in the same areas like Kitava, etc. The trade needs to be in-game. The problem with trade is waiting for player interaction and interrupting their gameplay in order to trade. It's very broken as a concept even and doesn't work at all if you're trying to buy something someone doesn't feel is worth their time to even respond about. Could be he is ignoring it... or just as plausible he sees absolutely nothing wrong with the game...
Both are equally true. Don't forget there are some people who like the NES game "ET" |

" I played the hell out of ET because I couldn't afford most of the games and my mother got it on sale for like $1.00. Having said that... I can't stand the development choices for POE 2... like letting RNG play such a large part in most of the game instead of focusing on algorithms that reward a player's time, etc. Dunno... I'm not even sure why I'm still coming to the forums. I stopped playing over a week ago when I hit the "fuck it, I quit" wall where I realized it would take more of my time to get back to where I was after a death than I wanted to invest in the game. " You said it... People who like ET definetly don't like gaming. |

" I beg you, stop being dishonest. It does nothing when trying to prove a point. Us marveil thr boss of act 6? Is the construction the boss of act 7, is domunus the boss of act 8, is malachai the boss of act 9? Yes the maps are similar but they are changed for the whole timeline shift thing. A map is a map is a map, every level is basically the same with different tilesets in every area. These have different tile sets in every act. I agree the trade site has some issues, like I with you could downvote people who don't respond but regardless it is still a far superior auction house than any that has ever existed. |

" That is, I think the biggest issue for me. The fact that GGG sees trade as the ultimate, best and most enjoyable way of progressing your gear. Not crafting. Not actually playing through content. Overtuned mechanics that give you no or too short of a telegraph (like Sky Seer's tornado) to be able to get out of the way? Yeah, they suck, but those can be adjusted. To, you know, become Dark of Exile or Path of Souls or something. Brutally punishing players in the maps will be dealt with by just reducing the build variety of the game to maybe 3 or 4 that can handle everything the best way possible, using the main pillar of the game: trading. Thus making the game wide as an ocean, but deep as an expresso cup. I didn't make it to maps yet. Been playing the campaign on hardcore with a dozen characters, watching them die in all ways possible, from off-screen slams to chaos damage that has no counter in early game, to overtuned attack patterns and rare monsters modifiers. But the normal difficulty was still alright. Gearing up from drops, some crafting or vendors was possible. Then came cruel difficulty and everything went belly-up. 6 hours of grinding Grelwood to Ogham, hoping to drop 1 (one!) good pair of gloves to replace the ones I've got at the beginning of Act 3. Alas, that's no longer possilbe. The "advanced" gear is so just in name and requirements, as the modifiers are too often Tier 1 and 2. Way too often for the drops to feel good or rewarding. Which is a good thing! 'Cus that will push you into GGG's favorite game mechanic: trading. Ascendancies are bad. Either not supported by skills and passives or just utter garbage as a whole. Melee gameplay is more punishing than any other style, what with armor being there just for kinks, same as evasion, given how monsters really, really love to cluster up and slam-spam you into yesterday (Valley of Titans comes to mind about that). And while sometimes pulling the monsters slowly is alright (we were doing that in Diablo 1 and 2 as well), using this tactic for an entire map is just tiresome. In my opinion PoE2 can be a lot of fun, but GGG needs to stop getting their kicks from finding new ways to surprise-kill player characters and, most important, need to find a way to bring crafting and farming up to par with their beloved trade mechanic. |

" Guy... the maps are the same... just turned, twisted or altered slightly with some debris and fire thrown in, lol. Plus, if the trade system doesn't work... then how is it "far superior" exactly? If you can whisper someone about a listed trade and they don't respond... that's not functional, thereby it is not working, thereby it is not "superior" by any means to any type of Auction house where you do a search for an item and click to buy it from a player. Pretty simple, really. Visit my Steam profile here: https://steamcommunity.com/id/TheBaconOverlord/

" So you agree the maps are altered and you ignored how the bosses are infact different. Also yes the trade site is superior to any ah in any game. please show me any Ah with the level of functionality the trade site has, I'll wait. Poe1 uses the same site and it works fine also. Are there bots? Yes. This is just an issue that can be fixed, and dos not require the entire revamp/creation of a new system. Ie we don't need to reinvent a wheel when it already exists. |

" Honestly, seems more like you are being paid to badmouth the game. Why is it so hard to believe people like POE2? There are over 200k concurrent players every day since launch. I legitimately love POE2. ![]() 1. I love the XP loss. I legitimately prefer it. 2. I don't love that Sekimas requires you to repeat all tiers every time, seems like a waste, but this trial is obviously there to have a non-death-causing challenge for Hardcore. I do the first Sekimas and then stick to Chaos, which I've had no trouble with. 3. I find POE2 endgame Atlas more enjoyable than POE1 or D4 or Last Epoch or Warframe Steel Path. Could it be better? Yes. I still love it. 4. travel mounts? Seriously? 5. respecs are damn cheap and easy. I'm glad they wised up about this. The respec cost at POE2 launch was horrible and I posted feedback for the costs to be lowered then. 6. campaign skipping? This is a religion, GGG is very clear they are not on your side of it. They dont plan to add campaign skipping. I think the POE2 campaign feels like it won't be as speedrunnable as POE1, but I've already been able to do follow characters is *massively* less time (~2h30m per act) 7. I'm split about the Cruel thing. If they never released updated Act 4-6 content, I wouldn't care. It's kind of refreshing to repeat the content in a harder format. This was true of Diablo 3 a decade ago as well. However, I do think they will release Act 4-6. I find the POE2 campaign massively more enjoyable than POE1 or D4. 8. I mostly play SSF, so I don't have strong opinions about trading. In my trade characters, I have given up on selling anything under 5ex because of the annoyance, so I understand people hating on it. I'd like to see either auto-trade for fixed-price items, or very streamlined trade+chat dialog that didn't require a seller to quit what they are doing to confirm a trade. However, they would need some serious bot prevention. I understand the reasons GGG is relucant to do this. 9. I don't really experience bots, because I have not purchased a single item (though I've sold a few cheap ones to experience it). My trade-league characters are only there to play co-op with real life friends...not buying items, just self-found with friends and a little currency exchange. 10. I prefer the one-death maps. One of the things I most hate about POE1 is the ability to use multiple-lives during a single boss fight without a reset. I actually prefer hard mechanics. I like POE2.
