Releasing the game in this state and then going on holiday was a poor decision.

Yep, would have rather waited until January.
The game is in a great state for an Early Access title in version 0.1. Yeah, it needs balancing, but I'm enjoying it far more than PoE1 (and I have 2500 hours in PoE1).

I do agree it was a poor decision to go on holiday now. When the 2 patches we had came out the community was very positive about those patches. The should've kept that up. Because now they left people to scream and rant and make youtube videos about non-issues without GGG adressing it.

I don't really care that the game isn't getting patches right now, but the angry emotional PoEveterans are doing their best to rip the game apart everywhere they can. GGG could've prevented that. I think it's a poor business decision.
Exp penalty on death is a PoE thing since PoE was a thing. It's frustrating at times, more so in PoE when you don't see what's flattening your character (as it may an off-screen attack) than it will be in PoE2, once random 1-shots that shouldn't exist are fixed (like the dagger-push of the colossus boss in Act 2).

Also, you opted in to play an Early Access game. Mind you, not "1 week before release" kind of Early Access, but more of a BG3 Early Access. Was tempted to say Star Citizen earlier, but that would be completely unfair from all points of view.

There are plenty of issues to be addressed in the game, as it slowly marches towards the finished product it will eventually be. Bad boss mechanics and bugs, bad, terrible, atrocious aim-assist, characters not landing their hits, not reloading their crossbows, some classes underperforming due to poor skill balance or skill/support gems availability, etc.

The game is, however, as one would expect it to be in this stage of development.
And this time without any patches and interaction is actually good. As it lets us test and discover more mechanical unpleasantries - talking here about bugs and malfucntioning mechanics, not about intended ones that are working as designed.

Granted, the feedback section (and the bugs one too, at times), is more of a kindergarden gathering, where us kids keep complaining the cherry on the cake was light brown instead of dark red or something. "Game bad", "F*** your vacation!" and so on. Silly, entitled af and completely unproductive.

Even the relevant complaints are formulated with a complete disregard for the "Early Access" tag we're running the game as.

So yeah, settle in for the ride, since you "paid 60$" (funny thing! I only paid 30 for some reason...) and enjoy the trip. It's gonna be a pretty bumpy one :D

Excuse my sense of entitlement but I did spend $60 to support GGG.

It was this or no game during the holidays; use ur brain a lil bit cmon now.

I'm positive Diablo 4 went f2p for the holiday. And Dumborn Age: Failguard is also fresh out of the oven. Plenty of options there. All the hand-holding one could ever hope for and the care toward ppl's sensibilities, in a finished package, no?

I don't understand why over 1 mil people chose to play an early access game instead. Silly of us...

They should really not have released it without enough support personal and a support system that actually enables them to work efficiently.

I think the actual game support is good (bugs etc.) - but the support when it comes to MTX, Account problems etc. isnt.

They also could have avoided a lot of these issues by for example warn people from linking accounts on different stores. Or maybe even just have some "we suggest you buy both games on the same store if you want to have no issues with your MTX etc.

The next problem is their Support system in general - its unprofessional from my point of view if you look at the scope of this game:

- emails without any form:
-- require extra work just to find out what the problem is
-- most of the time will require multiple interactions to solve a problem because of missing information
-- arent usable in a way to see general problems fast and have specific workers do specific problems in a row to speed up the process

- You dont get any form of info if they even got the mail -> this leads to a ton of additional emails that also have no form and have to be looked trough manually ...

And dont even get me started on the problem that many ppl werent even able to send an email and got error messages in their Junkmail-Folder - probably because of full inbox?

It's called "Early Access" for a reason

Yeah but Accounts and MTX are neither really EA nor are they priced in a way that would make this sort of support acceptable - we are talking about waiting times of 3+ weeks for real money transactions, Account issues, Hacked accounts and ppl not even able to play the game after purchase for non game-technical reasons.

I also dont really get the F2P Argument. This game for most ppl is way more expensive than a AAA game on release. Stashtabs alone will cost you 30+ USD. And dont get me started on the most restricted and expensive Skins of any game i know.

I also find it kind of funny what is called a "Microtransaction" these days - yeah 80 Dollar skin - "micro" transaction ...

Yeah this is a topic that isn't being discussed enough. A lot of issues are presented by the game and the business practices GGG partakes in. It's just a shame that there are people who will automatically defend GGG for any reason and not have a discussion. Almost as if criticizing the game is criticizing their character but that's their issue. Hopefully the topic you mentioned does get addressed in the near future since it's not a good look for the company.

Which AAA title is $30? Because most of them are $70 minimum, with a "forced" charge of future expansions. Like...nearly all of them operate this way.

PoE: If you invest in EVERY stash tab, as well as a handful of premium tabs that costs you what? $50? And you are set for LIFE, never need to spend another dime (in most cases). Every new league is free. All new content is free. All new skills/classes/etc. are free. How much did it cost just to play as a Necro in D3? Spiritborn in D4?

Your point about it not "really" being F2P is taken....but don't just straight up lie about the true cost to the average player.

To the OP: the game is in an amazing state! You seem to think that, because you don't like it, its not in a good state. I also play very little and have my share of gripes against the game. But objectively...the game is functioning well, there are very few bugs, there is a massive number of concurrent players, etc. Hell, its in a better state than some of PoE 1's BEST leagues.

And yes...I realize you explicitly state that you DO like the game. But I think you are kidding yourself. If you truly think the game is in a bad state...then you most certainly don't like it. Because that is a judgment on the WHOLE game right there. For a game to be in a bad state, it literally needs to be practically unplayable for you. Not "oh this game is GREAT and FUN....but its in a bad state". That is deliberate, unhelpful hyperbole.

There are certainly things within the game that are worse off than others: the trade market, magic find, warrior, just to name a few. But there is absolutely no rush to fix those. One major patch will clear that all up, whenever it may come.
Starting anew....with PoE 2

if they knew they had a month long holiday THEY COULD HAVE AT THE VERY LEAST made loot filters available for console ffs
One does not launch a product and goes on vacation. Childish move by them.

Nobody is asking for slave labour, just common sense. There were several ways to avoid this situation.

Seems GGG stil need to mature as a company.
Agree, it was a bad desition, we are not talking minor things here, there are GROSS balance issues.

You can call it what ever you want, once you open to the general public and charge for it, IT's RELEASED.

I would hate for this game to fail because of the state it was released in.
It's okay, you guys could also just take a break until they fix stuff but you talk about a company making bad decisions or being childish lol. Others would continue playing and testing, game will be here when you feel better.
