Releasing the game in this state and then going on holiday was a poor decision.

"
Disclaimer: I enjoy the game and will continue to support it.

Excuse my sense of entitlement but I did spend $60 to support GGG.

I don't mind the team taking vacation. Hope they stay out as much as they can and enjoy their free time like we are. It's just that with the EA launch of such an anticipated title it leaves a sour taste in my mouth that the team isn't present in such a crucial moment for the franchise. I expected the hype train to die down and for the cracks to start showing themselves, but the product on release needed constant attention and patches every week for the first month at least.

Certain mechanics such as loss of xp on death in end game should've been addressed immediately and the other major topics being discussed by the community. In no way saying the team doesn't have a difficult task at hand and changes should be at the snap of the communities fingers ; and also not discrediting what they did manage to fix with recent patches which were wonderful, but this pattern of good patches needed to be consistent which wasn't the case. Leaving players growing more frustrated as more issues presented themselves and leaving the community divided with no response from the team in over 2 weeks. I just don't agree with that line of thinking from a business stand point. It could've been delayed till after the holidays but revenue is revenue.

This game is likely the worst it will ever be and that's an amazing thing to say since it already is incredible. It's just a shame that it launched at the time it did and that there wasn't enough engagement with the player base that I felt was enough for a launch.

The launch to me felt like a fire. A fire that roared for a bit then petered out shortly after. Can't wait for the team to comeback and relight it. All I have is optimism and excitement for this game and I hope it really becomes the one of the best Arpg of all time.

Happy Holidays everyone and Happy new Years!!!

Do you even know the difference between early access and a fully launched game?
It's a little bothersome that they couldn't have at least a single person respond to feedback for this long of a period.
There was absolutely nothing wrong with anything that they did.

The only thing wrong here, is that GGG has a game full of entitled brats that think the company should drop everything and cater to them.

It's an early access. It takes time. We're only 3 weeks in. If you're upset about the state of the game. Give some feedback and then go do something else.

No one owes you a perfectly functional game 3 weeks after an Early Access release.

They're probably buckling down and working on the game as we speak. I would assume that they're taking in the feedback, and making changes. Games don't get fixed over-night. Seriously guys, chill.

I don’t get this argument. Of course people are going to have something to say about a product they paid for. GGG is obviously smart enough to weigh the financial gain of the early release vs the potential loss of players by disappearing for 2 weeks.

Call them whatever you want, but in the end it is potential customers walking away. Maybe they will return, maybe they won’t. The fact that it’s labelled early access isn’t going to change their minds.

If you're a customer walking away based on the first 2 weeks of an early access game. That's on you, and your expectations.

I'd say the game is better off without that sort of person. They're entitled, and stupid, and they ruin almost everything they touch because of the negativity, the entitlement, the way they treat others.

Nothing GGG did was wrong. The entire community came into this game with skyhigh expectations, and realized it was an early access.

And instead of blaming themselves, and their own stupidity. They've decided to blame GGG For it.

You need some self awareness. This isn't feedback. It's a straight up blame fest towards GGG.

I came into this knowing it's an early access. I knew it was going to take time to get some polish into the game. So, instead of complaining that GGG 'fucked up the release right before holidays'. I'm just simply playing another game while I wait for patches. And I continue giving feedback on the things I think would improve the game. As should everyone.

Feedback vs entitled complaining.

Game is early access. Adjust your expectations accordingly. You knew this game was an early access, there's no reason anyone should be saying GGG is at fault here. It's been 3 weeks. Give them time. Enjoy another game in the meantime.

God another one of these?

Sorry, but no. It got released in a somewhat good state, it got better with the number of patches and hotfixes, and it's going to get one of the first major updates in the coming weeks (if GGG is to be trusted with major updates monthly).

With it being (maybe not even) a 1/5th of the final game, it is good, and once finished and polished, it's going to blow out of the water anything that exists and has ever existed in the genre.

Is it perfect? No. Plenty of UI/UX quirks, plenty of strange mechanics and plenty of design choices that I hope leave some wiggle room for change of direction.

Also some things show they were done in a hurry just so they can release in 2024 without any more delays.

Do I fault them for that? No. It was a no-win situation. Either delay till January or later, or just go for the green light and let it out.

I am fully confident that once they are back at it, it's going to get going very, and I mean very fast. From fixes, to updates, to new stuff, to major changes. Nothing is impossible.
And also no, I don't always agree 100% with the choices they make, with the changes they do or with the shit they come up with, but in the end it always somehow works out.

TL/DR
- They fucking deserve a time off after the cruch they had to go through to release atleast something in 2024 or face the wrath of the gamers.
- You being loud, pissy or feeling entitled doesn't mean jack shit. You paid or got gifted a chance to be a alpha/beta tester
- You didn't pay nearly enough to go around and be telling them when they can or can not have a vacation. That's Tencent's job and you don't have that kind of money or influence 🤣
+1 agree, and they have shown me through more than a decade of playing poe 1 that they CAN be trusted to make the necessary updates, besides they are very well know for listening to community feedback
