The Amount of Time "Vacationing" is Actually Absurd
Guys srry but your discussion is really stupid.
He made a statement and i agree 100 % with him. They knew before, its vacation time. Not the playerbase. They made the decission to release it at that date. Not the playerbase. They told us, its stable and very playable. Not the playerbase. They made the decission to take money for a ftp game in EA Its seems it is more and more common that publisher release a game with 40 % readyness and they say ITS EA but please pay for that in advance.. Not the playerbase. They decided to bring in the same mistakes as they had in POE 1. Not the playerbase. They made a really good basegame, but nothing more or less. In my eyes its done by at maximum 35 %. But my question is, what did they do the last 10 Years if they have capacities and knowledge from POE 1 to screw it up like this? To be honest i don't get it, especially if this the second product what i am releasing. Imagine a doctor who is doing an operation to a patient ( nothing very urgent but it needs to be done, somedays) and he did everything and in last moments the clock switch to the next day and he tell you, oh now I am in vacation. Sorry but you have to wait 2 weeks. Last edited by Hecktoor#2386 on Dec 27, 2024, 7:06:53 PM

" Yeah, I remember the original explanation, too. They were on about a lot more than just melee. Namely loot not being able to be fixed in the current engine. It's a lot more than just melee. Simply put, fixing melee was not the "sole purpose" that is absurd. |

" They also planned to release at the beginning of november. If they had waited past their vacation time, y'all would be in here screaming they should have released it as well. Also, that is exactly how doctors work, at least in the archaic land of the USA, so that analogy really falls flat on its face to me. Also, this is indeed early access, so yes, it is an incomplete game. |

" Pretty much. My Christmas holiday was from December 20th to January 6th. I'm not allowed back to work until then. Did I mention that I have 5 weeks of summer vacation too, that I HAVE to use? I even have a week off in the winter, easter and fall too. Sucks being European, I guess. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" They did not release it in novembre, so they decided again. I am hopimg you get my point. They made decissions and these decisions pissed off a lot of customers, because THEY made is to customers. Someone who wanna dance should pay for the music. Sorry its that simple. And the doctors in germany would never do something like that, they would go directly into jail. |

Honestly I'd give them more leeway with all of this if they didn't you know.
Re-introduce problems that they KNEW everyone wouldn't like (literally admitting introducing wells would be a bad idea in PoE1 or Armour Formula being so goddamn shit), and then flouncing. This sounds like either malevolence or incompetence. Last edited by aef8234#7932 on Dec 27, 2024, 7:24:03 PM

" I mean, they did not release in november due to account shattering bugs. I'm 100% positive their decision to not release in november was the correct one. So yes, they did decide to release in december right before their vacation time, which is actually very normal for league releases by GGG, to avoid our accounts being sundered. Do you remember launch day? When people started making characters our account IDs essentially melded together in the database. If they had released in november, this would likely be a far worse problem. You are trying to boil this down to simple logic but you are missing an entire legitimate reason why this happened. |

" Pretty much this. Their customers don’t owe them anything, and can be as happy or mad as they want to be. |

" And how do you assume where I'm from, where I live, or which country I'm working for and what rules/laws apply to me, if I may ask? Nobody "has" to work, if they don't want to, sure. But if what you said actually applied in any country and the freedom was to the employees, that country would completely go null for even 24 hours, and that can't happen, it's not allowed to happen, there's always someone / somewhere working. As you properly quoted "alternative holiday" requirements, that means that yes you will be at the company during stress time ( even if it's considered a holiday ) and you'll get your vacation at an alternative point, that's a business level decision, it's not yours as an employee ( as I have agreed and I'm doing for myself for example as well ). To give you a hint I work for a company based in AUS and I've been working the same way for over 25 years now, so those "laws" don't really apply to me or to the other millions of people like myself in similar industries and positions. My point still stands "it depends on the company", you can give your links to AWS AUS region employees for example and let's see what the reply would be if half of AUS companies that rely on AWS stay without support from them during Christmas for example, good luck with that. Or in our context here if the servers went suddenly down, you think that everyone would be on "vacation" and the systems would stay dead? As I said there's always someone behind looking after the infrastructure and that's the truth, even what you linked proves it, I didn't talk about responding to emails, that isn't priority number 1, I talked about what keeps the game and this forum ( or other similar services ) on for you and me to have a blast. I have digressed a little though, so excuse me. I'm not here to fight anyone by the way and we definitely don't need to go political in a gaming forum, I'm too old for that :P, I'm simply stating an alternative side of the story. " And I love that quote ^ haha. |

A lot of people in these comments had to be told multiple times by their mothers to stop staring at the sun.
