The Amount of Time "Vacationing" is Actually Absurd

What most people in this thread are getting wrong (or are acting like they do so they can gaslight...) is that people don't complain about GGG having vacations (obviously...), it's about the timing.

I think it's common sense to work hard to have everything ready, then go to vacation, then comeback, maybe wait a week to make sure everything is on point, and then release the EA.

I don't understand this timing at all, also i don't understand why is it 2 full weeks, and i also don't understand how are they even allowed to go on vacation on high demand/peak season periods, i don't know a single job that would let you do that, your boss will laught at your face just for asking, it's such an odd timing.

Some people say the have been working hard, well, i work hard as well, sometimes even 12h a day, on a very demanding job mentally, and i wouldn't even think of going to vacation with an unfinished job, even if i was allowed, i wouldn't even be able to relax... I'm responsable and a professional and my job has to be done, then i can allow myself to have a good rest.

And again, i reiterate, i do want them to rest, i want them to enjoy vacation and be happy with their family like everyone else, i want them to have a fresh mind and motivation to keep improving the game, this is my favourite gaming company, but does it really have to be now?, idk man...

I'll tackle this paragraph by paragraph.

They worked their asses off for months before hand and the timing is perfect. Its the holidays and if you are gaming 10-12 hours a day during that time period you need to reevaluate your life choices and go visit your family. They left the game is a good state regardless of what the neckbeards on reddit and the vocal minority here are saying. The streamers complaining are just that...humans complaining but complaining makes more views than praise. The news does it...the government does it...and we all know negative stuff sells far faster than positive stuff.

The common sense was to get it out before the holidays so people can play it and enjoy it. Currently 4x the amount of people are playing than ever have in POE 1 and they made some really good changes before they left. THIS WILL NEVER BE POE 1.

Well now you know a single job that does that. As a company, irrespective of the client, you have a right and duty first and foremost to keep your employees happy. They probably all worked tons of overtime before hand, lost valuble time with their families, and GGG decided 2 weeks would be sufficient for everyone to reset, rewind, and hit it hard in the new year.

Well, this just seems like a virtue signal and holier than thou attitude.

They deserve rest and the best time to do it is during the holidays.

You have some problems with reading comprehension.

Disappearing for several weeks just after your absolutely massive, humongous release is pretty strange. One week off at most, but this long?

I honestly wish it was the norm, I love that they're doing that. Those devs deserve that rest and to spend the holidays with friends, family and loved ones.

I applaud GGG for this decision, for not prioritizing impatient whiners over their employees best interests. I'd rather they treat their devs right so they can keep making a good game, than sacrifice their talent for the sake of quickly appeasing a few childishly impatient forum-naggers.

Let them complain, let them whine. They'll be happy and forget this ever happened once the new content and updates starts rolling out later this winter and in spring.

you love that they ig8nore you? you love being a doormat and being ignored ofr weeks on end without a single actual console specific updte. HAhAhaHAHAHAHAHAHHAH you are the new poe players. good job ggg. i hope they spend the hundreds like i have. im not anymore.

I'd have to be a very sad little man to feel personally insulted by the devs having a Christmas holiday, lol. They're not stepping all over you by having a break, you fragile little manchild.

you defending them and white knighting till the bitter end is more amusing. they took money under false pretence. you defend all their choices. you are a yes man. you defend the corporation, a non physical entity. lol. im insulted by the choices the actual people made. ggg as a whole should have whatever vacation the company deems. but... tey should also have at leastr one person just saying something. we are working on things would suffice but no. its too taxing to type on the forums when they are already on vacay... i guess they dont have phones either lol.

*Looks around* Has the game fullly realesed ?`nope still says early acess...

So while its in early acess why are some in this thread so upset that they have not gotten any updates in 11 days ?

This is not full game release

They told us in upcoming changes post on pathofexile.com

"As we wind down for the holiday season we wanted to thank you all for our most successful launch so far, we could not have done it without all of your support. A lot of our team will begin to take some much needed rest over the next few weeks but we look forward to getting back in the new year refreshed and ready for an exciting year of development in 2025. Happy Holidays, Exiles!"

I hope they reset the market by making Ea season 1 (Can still play you char in ea standard) or something when they nerf the rarity and makes fixes to class balances

exactly. these people replying are literal yes men who just approve whatever is happening with zero understanding of the situation. their only motive is to defend GGG. they've never worked for or managed a large company. they have no idea that removing yourself from your customer base during the literal most important time in your company's life is blasphemous in business. they have absolutely no idea what they're arguing against. they just defend the company's vacation because they feel virtuous for doing so.

take your vacation time in a month. take it a month ago. delay your release while we play poe1. do anything except release your game that's crap, then leave. it's a massive slap in the face. and no, i don't care if i play tomorrow or in six months. i'll play when the game is good, and right now it isn't and it's shameful GGG isn't in office speaking to the audience and fixing their PRODUCT.
Ask yourself: If this were Blizzard, how would you feel?

No we are not "yes men" most of us are hard-working people with families who understanding the value of spending time with family and loved ones during the holidays. The ones complaining that they "left us" during the holidays and are outraged by it need to do one simple thing and one simple thing alone.

Go outside and touch grass.

The game numbers speak for themselves. 500k active RIGHT NOW just on steam alone so your entire comment is just outlandish and not founded in reality.
