EA servers need a complete reset (Remove MF)

This was a thoughtful post and I agree with the sentiment here. However, I would appreciate a solution other than reset, but I fail to see a different option. I watched several videos today with a culling MF 600-820% magic find party and it completely took all the wind out of my sails to play. I simply cannot and will not be able to compete and I have fallen too far behind.

Yeah !!!
Today I was watching the Olympic 100m sprint and damn, I'll never be able to follow that speed ! It was so painful to watch that I couldn't even get up to WALK to the fridge. Man, I guess I'll die in my chair. Life is so unfair, phew... I lost all will to keep going.

Helpful comment to a well thought out post. Thanks. The comparison of the Olympics is not realistic. With the Olympics you are dealing with the physical limits of the human body. That has a natural end point as the body can only go so far.

A better comparison would have been something like hunting and gathering resources. One group gets guns and the other group gets arrows.

Glad to help you overcome your trading addiction. It's always sad to see someone falling into depression because of other people's virtual numbers on a screen. Hope you'll be able to recover and "play" & "have fun" in a video game, if you remember what those terms means. Best of luck to you exile.

What? I've bought 10 items and sold 6. What is with you man you don't even know me?

Well, you seem so sad not to be able to compete with streamers playing with 800% magic find. Can't you and your wife just play for yourselves without comparing yourselves to anyone else ? Do you really need that 330 divine gear ?

I don't think GGG at this point cares about economy very much as they shouldn't. There will probably be wipes or new leagues during EA at some point and that will fix the issue. No developer should care about some people having more shiny coins than other people in an EA.

That's stuff they should figure out close to launch, but not right now.

I'm not saying MF is fine at the moment, they should definitely tackle that.

They should care (and I think they DO care, and we'll see that in the next couple of weeks).

The economy being FUBAR drives a good chunk of the player base away from the game, specially the casuals and regular gamers, which nobody wants.

Fewer players = less quality of overall feedback.

Don't u think there's more pressing issues than that right now that drives away new players? I bet the economy is the least of those. Economy is something people in endgame care about, not new players. Most new players don't even engage with trading, because they don't know how it works.
They also don't understand how the economy works, they probably just look at the items and see that they are expensive -> close the tab and keep on playing. (or not, who knows)

If u're at a point of caring about economics in an ARPG u're usually not new anymore and therefor understand that it's an early access where shit probably gets fixed and wiped over time. If not, well u're maybe better off to greener pastures.

Well yes, I'd love to and that's my point. I've hit a wall and need better gear. That was the premise of my post and was posted in feedback regarding magic find being overturned.

I am saying I need gear that isn't even put on the market at realistic prices it also is not droppable or craft able and is only realistically obtainable through trading. Trading with currency that with normal magic find levels I get maybe 30 ex and 1 div over the last 40 hours of playing is now worth less comparably to the influx and dilution of the value of said currency. This was only probably within the last 72 hours. I had my eyes on a crossbow upgrade at 1 div and now that same crossbow is 40 div. How could I gather enough div to get that upgrade. Without that upgrade I'm stuck.

I want to be able to play but cannot progress and have no meaningful options to progress because the drops I need require specific order of affix and prefix. The odds are very low. Probably looking at 100+ hours to gather enough currency to afford them at today's prices.

Remember that American dad episode when Stan works hard to gather enough money to buy a membership to the country club. Its a lot like that for us. He does eventually gather enough to get $250,000 needed for the membership fee that took 30 years to make. But the goal post moved a lot for him in 30 years. Now the membership is 2.5 million.

This problem is like that but instead of terms of years its in terms of hours or days.

I'll admit to hyperbole here, but I'm using it to maybe help you understand the point I was trying to make earlier.

I'm not boohooing about not being the best of the best. To use your example; I'm asking to be able to afford the javelin at academy sports to casually throw a few over the weekend. I don't and am not advocating for myself to have Olympian level of athletics within a few hours of causal training.

If I wanted that Olympian level strength I play grim dawn or diablo2 with hero editor and dupe everything in.

I'm saying at this point there isn't much I can do to progress. Items for mid level gearing are prohibitively expensive because exalted and divine orbs are becoming significantly less valuable the longer magic find is enabled.

I think that is relevant to our conversation regarding magic find as it relates to feedback in a game I rather enjoy and want to improve it in early access.

!00% agree there are other terrible issues with the game right now the drives away both new and seasoned players (1 portal, crafting, RNG citadels, some OP uniques etc.), I never stated otherwise. MF is just a no-brainer subject, it's something they should get rid of (along with 1 portal) and doesn't require major work to fix.

Theres no point in resetting, standard league is meaningless

the game is about the seasonal leagues. This is a dump server

I agree, new server/season is needed tho, maybe in a month or two.

Sure, that makes sense !

But what about the other effect of higher offers and less demands that's going to slowly settle as less and less players are going to look for X and Y as they'd reach higher needs ; while also more and more items of that kind will flood the market.
We may too consider your bank value which is increasing over time. You too can drop and sell. You too can equip magic-find items. Reducing values of orbs for you too. If not looking for magic-find items, then that's your luck, they are quite cheap these days.

And again, that's a lot of trading-related-thought for someone that doesn't really want that much of it. Don't be a slave of the market.

And again, what's the need ? Nothing is mandatory in the endgame. Is "progression" really your only goal ? What do you need the gear for ? What about just plain fun ?
